  • BECK: RIDE LONESOME, SINGLE & TOUR

Yesterday, eight-time GRAMMY winner Beck unveiled the stunning new surprise single, “Ride Lonesome.”

Today, Beck follows that hypnotically sublime ballad with the announcement of the Ride Lonesome Tour, a 25-date trek stopping at some of North America’s most renowned theaters and amphitheaters.

The Ride Lonesome Tour, promoted by Live Nation, will kick off September 16th at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre, with stops including the Santa Barbara Bowl, the Greek in L.A., Red Rocks, two nights each at The Masonic in SF, Massey Hall in Toronto and the Brooklyn Paramount, and more, before concluding October 31st at The Truth in Nashville.

Tickets for Beck’s Ride Lonesome Tour go on sale Friday, April 24th at 10am local time. For further information, go to Beck.com.

Produced by Beck and Mixed by Nigel Godrich, the song “Ride Lonesome” evokes the beautiful and haunting sonic landscapes and textures of 2015 Album of the Year GRAMMY winner Morning Phase and its spiritual predecessor, 2002’s classic Sea Change—and features multiple musicians who played on those milestone releases. From the resonant acoustic guitar strains of its opening to the emotional peaks of its final chorus, this long-awaited new original composition is the first indication of a different yet familiar direction for Beck in the year ahead.

Citi is the official card of the Beck: Ride Lonesome Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, April 21st at 11am local time until Thursday, April 23rd at 10pm local time through the Citi Entertainment program. For complete presale details visit www.citientertainment.com

  • Evil Age Return with Crushing New Single “Demon Grip” – Video Premieres May 5, 2026 – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Evil Age Return with Crushing New Single “Demon Grip” – Video Premieres May 5, 2026
Niagara Escarpment – There’s no easing into this one. Evil Age are back, and they’re coming in swinging. Fresh off their signing with CDN Records, the band unleashes their latest single, “Demon Grip,” a vicious descent into the darker corners of the human mind.
Where their debut established the tone, “Demon Grip” digs deeper and hits harder. This track is all about letting the wrong forces take hold. It explores what happens when you feed the negative, obsess over destructive thoughts, and slowly shut out anything good trying to break through. It’s not subtle. It’s not pretty. It’s a full-on psychological spiral set to bone-crushing riffs and relentless aggression.
Evil Age continue to carve out their identity with a sound that feels ancient and hostile, blending suffocating heaviness with feral speed. This isn’t just music you throw on in the background. It’s something that drags you under and makes you sit in it.
Lyrically, “Demon Grip” paints a bleak picture of transformation. Over time, the damage builds. The person you were fades out. What’s left is something colder, something unrecognizable. A shell overtaken by something you willingly let in. That’s the hook right there. This isn’t possession forced on you. It’s invited. And once it’s got you, it doesn’t let go.
The official video for “Demon Grip” premieres May 5, 2026, and if it matches the intensity of the track, it’s going to leave a mark.

CDN Records continues to back artists that don’t play it safe, and Evil Age fit that mold perfectly. No trends, no compromises. Just raw, punishing metal with something to say, even if it’s staring straight into the abyss.
Stay locked in. This is just the next chapter, and it’s already getting darker.

  • Immortal Has Completed Work on Their Next Record

    immortal2023

Black metal legends Immortal has finished work on their next album, meaning we will get to hear their follow up to 2023’s War Against All sometime in the near future. We know that’s the case because Immortal guitarist and vocalist Demonaz Doom Occulta shared an update on the new record.

“Greetings, hordes! The writing of the next Immortal album is finished. The new material follows our steady path of fast riff-powered Blashyrkh metal. More news will follow!”

Immortal has been a reunited unit since 2007, though their status fluctuated multiple times in the years since. Originally they got back together after falling apart in 2003 in order to play a series of summer festival shows, including Inferno Festival, Tuska Open Air, and Wacken Open Air. They even played a couple U.S. shows at the time before traveling to Australia and New Zealand for some shows there.

Following that run of dates, the band decided to continue on in a much more permanent way, while work began on All Shall Fall. Things eventually fell apart around 2015 when in-fighting caused a legal battle over the band’s name. That same year, Abbath quit the band to go start his solo work, with the remaining members staying to put out Northern Chaos Gods in 2018. At that point, Demonaz had returned as the band’s vocalist and guitarist, while Peter Tägtgren handled the bass.

A couple years later in 2020, the band once again had a fight over who had the rights to the name, this time it was between Demonaz and Horgh — the latter of which was challenging the former over whether they secured the trademark to the Immortal name or not. Two years later though, Demonaz was listed as the sole member of the band when they announced War Against All.

So yeah, who knows who’s on the band at this point to put out a new record. We’ll find out in due time, of course, but it’s a question worth asking at this juncture.

  • Bowling For Soup Unveil Cover Of Sum 41’s ‘In Too Deep’

Bowling For Soup have shared a cover of Sum 41‘s iconic hit ‘In Too Deep’, as well as a fantastic animated video that pays homage to the original.

That’s right, after their cover of Simple Plan‘s ‘I’m Just A Kid’ dropped last month, the Texan trio are at it again.

Taking on another huge hit from one of pop-punk’s biggest names, they’re sticking with the Canadian theme with a delightfully fun renditioon of Sum 41’s 2001 single ‘In Too Deep’.

Speaking about the friendship between Bowling For Soup and Sum 41, frontman Jaret Reddick has shared:

We met Sum 41 in 2000 when our bands toured with Catch 22. We instantly hit it off talking about metal and drinking copious amounts of, well, everything. Oh, and listening to the cassette with 1,000 farts they bought at a truck stop. You could tell watching them that they were special. Those things were about to blow up for them. And by the end of the tour, even the crowds knew it. We have managed to stay friends with the guys for 25 plus years. It is an honor to be able to add them to this collection of pop-punk covers we are doing. And what a freakin ‘banger it is!

You can check out the track, accompanied by an incredibly nostalgic animated video below:

Bowling For Soup will be making their way back to the UK for a co-headline tour with Frank Turner this summer.
