  • Listening Now : little image – THE REAPER

little image, the Texas-bred trio of Jackson Simmons, Troy Bruner, and Brandon Walters, dive into emotional depth on THE REAPER, a haunting highlight from their sophomore album KILL THE GHOST. Blending cinematic alt-rock with a darker, introspective edge, the track explores grief, loss, and the fragile process of forgiveness. Its slow-burning intensity is mirrored in the striking 16mm-shot video, filmed in an abandoned church near a nuclear site during a UK tour—adding a raw, almost surreal visual layer to the song’s weight. Both sonically and visually, it captures the band’s evolution into something more vulnerable and expansive.

  • Listening Now : LOSTNOTE – Fumes

LOSTNOTE, a Denver-based Gen X songwriter with over two decades of experience, channels introspection and sonic texture into Fumes, a track that blends indie electronica with alt-pop sensibilities. Drawing clear inspiration from acts like The Postal Service and Radiohead, the song balances moody synth layers with warm, slightly nostalgic guitar tones. There’s a quiet tension running beneath its polished surface, as the vocals drift between vulnerability and control, giving the track an intimate, late-night feel. It’s a reflective, slow-burning piece that thrives on atmosphere as much as melody.

  • Listening Now : Fugue State – So What Is There?

Fugue State, the collaborative project helmed by Northampton-based composer and producer Dan Langa, ventures into abstract, shape-shifting territory with So What Is There?. Built from manipulated studio recordings and a rotating cast of musicians, the track blurs the lines between ambient composition, chamber music, and fractured art-pop. The presence of Javanese vocalist Peni Candra Rini adds a haunting, human core to an otherwise deconstructed sonic landscape, where textures dissolve and reassemble in unpredictable ways.

Rooted in an almost obsessive studio process, the result feels less like a traditional song and more like a living, evolving sound sculpture.

  • Listening Now : Casie Hype – GAL TIK TOK

Casie Hype brings raw Caribbean energy into a global club context with GAL TIK TOK, a track that thrives on infectious rhythm and crossover appeal. Rooted in dancehall but infused with Afro-pop bounce and modern electronic punch, the song rides a tight groove built for both playlists and late-night sets. The production leans clean and hard-hitting, allowing the vocal delivery to carry that unmistakable island swagger while still feeling digitally sharp and current. Blurring lines between Afrobeats, dancehall, and club-ready tech influences, this one lands as a vibrant, globally-minded anthem rather than fitting neatly into a single genre box.

Colorado black metallers STORMKEEP will release their The Nocturnes Of Iswylm full-length on June 12th via Vesperian.

Founded in Denver in 2017, STORMKEEP has become one of the spearheads of contemporary symphonic black metal. From the beginning, the band’s work has been defined by a clear sense of identity: melodic, atmospheric, and rooted in the genre’s classic tradition, while shaped by their own fantasy-driven world and narrative approach.

Their first official release, the Galdrum EP, arrived in 2020 and quickly established STORMKEEP as a band with a distinctive vision. One year later, their debut album Tales Of Othertime expanded that world further, earning the band strong recognition within the international black metal underground and placing them among the most notable new names in the field.

Now signed to VesperianSTORMKEEP returns with their second full-length album, The Nocturnes Of Iswylm. Continuing the story first opened on Tales Of Othertime, the record further develops the band’s self-described black metal symphonia: a blend of grandeur, medieval atmosphere, and fantastical storytelling, carried by precise songwriting and a strong sense of place.

Produced by the band together with Michael Zech, known for his work with Secrets Of The Moon, Dark Fortress, and The Ruins Of Beverast, and mastered by Arthur Rizk, whose credits include Blood Incantation, Power Trip, and Worm, The Nocturnes Of Iswylmpresents STORMKEEP’s vision with clarity and depth.

The cover artwork was created by Simon Bisley, whose unmistakable visual language adds another striking layer to the world of the album. Additional extensive artwork was created by Valnoir, known for his work with Ulver, Paradise Lost, Amorphis, and more.

Following the late March release of the first single, “Carnal Tapestries Of Nailtorn Flesh,” STORMKEEP delivers their second single, “Imperious Sanguine Eroticism.” It offers another view into The Nocturnes Of Iswylm and underlines the band’s position at the forefront of modern symphonic black metal: traditional in spirit, carefully crafted, and fully committed to the world they have built.

Stream STORMKEEP’s “Imperious Sanguine Eroticism” HERE.

  • Listening Now : selfview – Desert by the sea

selfview, the project of composer Stas Sinyakov, crafts a deeply introspective sonic space with Desert by the Sea, an instrumental piece that feels both meditative and quietly expansive. Rooted in ambient minimalism, the track unfolds like a slow inner journey, inviting listeners to detach from noise and reconnect with stillness. Its subtle textures and patient pacing create a sense of weightless drift, as if suspended between thought and emotion. True to selfview’s philosophy of music as refuge, this composition doesn’t demand attention—it gently earns it, offering a calm, immersive escape into the listener’s inner landscape.

  • Listening Now : Borders of Nothing – The Life We Knew

Borders of Nothing, a Mexico City-based outfit formed in 2025, channel a striking balance of urgency and atmosphere on The Life We Knew, fusing raw post-punk drive with haunting, ethereal vocals. Beneath its energetic surface lies a deeper reflection on alienation and the blurred lines of digital existence, where freedom often feels more illusory than real. The contrast between jagged instrumentation and the weightless vocal presence creates a gripping push-and-pull tension.

Co-produced with Pablo Valero, the track carries a polished yet gritty edge that enhances its introspective intensity.

  • Listening Now : Hands First – Violence

Hands First channel pure tension and release on Violence, a relentless industrial-tinged punk track that builds like a ticking time bomb. Driven by propulsive rhythms, jagged guitars, and a simmering sense of frustration, the song captures the quiet rage of everyday monotony before erupting into full-blown catharsis. When it finally breaks open, it hits with unapologetic force—loud, chaotic, and undeniably freeing.

There’s an urgency throughout that makes it feel tailor-made for reckless late-night drives, turning pent-up anger into something visceral, explosive, and strangely exhilarating.
