(written by Islander) My selections today were guided by strong memories, many of them quite distant and others more recent. And the music below is strong enough to make new memories. I’ll explain as we go along. P.S. Be forewarned: There’s more than a little singing in this Saturday’s collection, especially in the closing segments, […]
Element of Fate will release their debut full-length album, DREAMFALL, on July 27, 2026. The record offers a narrative-driven experience featuring soaring vocals and dynamic instrumentation. The tracks explore themes of transformation, resilience, and finding light amid darkness.
Hailing from Washington, D.C., and Portland, Oregon, the duo fuses symphonic, gothic, and progressive metal into a fantasy-driven sound. Recommended for fans of Nightwish, Amorphis, and Epica, Element of Fate honors classic heavy metal while building atmospheric soundscapes.
Ahead of the July release, the band has shared early glimpses of their upcoming work. Element of Fate recently released a teaser for the album and a visualizer for the track “Warhorse,” providing a look at the soundscapes featured on DREAMFALL.
NEW YORK, NY — Industrial metalcore titans Motionless In White have officially wrapped work on their highly anticipated seventh studio album. The news broke after eagle-eyed fans noticed a subtle but definitive update to vocalist Chris Motionless’ social media bio, which now states he is “No longer working on the next @miwband album”.
Chris acknowledged the discovery by praising the fan’s attention to detail, signaling that the creative process for the follow-up to 2022’s Scoring The End Of The World is complete. The timing is critical, as the band launched a massive arena run at Madison Square Garden last night, marking the start of a year-long cycle celebrating their 20th anniversary.
When will the new Motionless In White album be released?
While an official title has not yet been revealed, the band confirmed earlier this year that the record is slated for a 2026 release to coincide with their two-decade milestone. The album cycle officially began on January 28, 2026, with the premiere of the lead single “Afraid Of The Dark”. Chris Motionless has described the upcoming LP as a collection inspired by the band’s entire 20-year history, aiming to honor their evolution from Scranton shadows to arena headliners. +2
“We thought, what a better fucking way to celebrate 20 years of being a band than releasing an album that is inspired by 20 years of our music,” Chris told fans during a recent performance. The band took their time with the production throughout 2025 to ensure a “bulletproof” package of sound and imagery, avoiding the pressure to rush the release.
What can fans expect from the musical direction of the seventh album?
According to Chris, the new material will maintain the signature balance found on their last several records—alternating between heavy, emotional, and experimental soundscapes. The band has no intention of abandoning their heavy roots or screaming vocals, noting that those elements are essential to the Motionless In White identity.
The recent teaser posted on May 1st, featuring a “gruesome image” and the caption “big things coming soon,” suggests the band is leaning back into the cinematic and gothic iconography they are known for. This “dawn of their biggest chapter” promises an organic yet high-gloss production that reflects their status as one of metalcore’s most cinematic forces.
2026 Touring Schedule: The Ascension Program and The Sweat and Blood Tour

It isn’t often a band hits their 20th year while still reaching their commercial and creative peak, but Motionless In White is doing exactly that. By wrapping the album now, they’ve cleared the decks to focus entirely on their biggest live shows to date. Fans who were worried about a “rushed” follow-up to their gold-certified success can breathe easy; the decision to take nearly two years for production shows a band that understands their legacy. With “Afraid Of The Dark” already a mainstay on the 2026 setlist, the full album drop is set to be the definitive metalcore event of the year.
Motionless In White vocalist Chris Motionless has confirmed via social media that work on the band’s seventh studio album is finished. The record is set for a 2026 release to celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. Fans can catch them live throughout 2026 on major tours with Bring Me The Horizon and Lorna Shore as they continue the cycle for their new single, “Afraid Of The Dark.”

BIO:
Ditheist was formed in 2006 in Chicago, Illinois, emerging from the underground with a singular goal: pure, unfiltered death metal destruction. Their 2008 debut EP Seduction of Demons quickly gained traction through strong reviews and airplay, establishing the band as a serious force within the scene.
Forged by founding members Konrad Lysak, Narcyz Fortuna, and John Gunerka, Ditheist refined their sound through years of relentless writing and lineup evolution, including the addition of vocalist Luke Voelz in 2014. Their full-length assault Eternity of Nothingness was unleashed in 2015, later releasing additional physical releases, and drew heavily from the ferocity and precision of genre pillars such as Atheist, Decapitated, Behemoth, and Vader.
Brutal, direct, and uncompromising, the record cemented Ditheist’s identity as a no-frills death metal entity, built on blast-driven percussion, razor-edged riffing, and cavernous vocals.

DALLAS, TX — Kid Rock didn’t just kick off his ‘Freedom 250 Tour’ last night at the Dos Equis Pavilion; he turned a federal controversy into a cinematic middle finger. Using a high-octane video package to open the show, the rap-rock icon seemingly mocked the recent uproar over the unsanctioned military flyby at his Nashville mansion. The footage featured Rock alongside U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, confirming that the duo is doubling down on the stunt that recently saw an aircrew suspended.
How did Kid Rock use the Apache controversy to kick off his tour?
Instead of moving past the incident that occurred just last week, Kid Rock made it the centerpiece of his tour’s opening. The “Freedom 250” trek began with a prepared video package showing Rock and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth taking flight in a pair of AH-64 Apache helicopters—the same model involved in the Nashville mansion controversy.
The move was a direct response to detractors who called for investigations after the helicopters were caught on video hovering near Rock’s pool. While the aircrew initially faced suspension, Hegseth quickly dropped all investigations, allowing Rock to transform the media firestorm into a promotional victory lap for his Dallas audience.
What did Kid Rock say about the “Commander-in-Chief” intervention?
The tour opening footage serves as a visual confirmation of Rock’s defiant stance regarding his political connections. Prior to the investigation being dropped, Rock—a vocal supporter of President Donald J. Trump—laughed off the severity of the flyby.
“I think they’re gonna be alright, my buddy’s the commander-in-chief [laughs],” Rock stated regarding the aircrew. “I mean what are they looking into? They stopped for seconds—I don’t know, a minute? Maybe they were here 3-4 minutes, you know? Just say ‘what’s up’ and went on”.
Is Kid Rock still working with Live Nation and Ticketmaster?
Despite his frequent public battles and work with the Trump administration to champion legislation against ticketing giants, Rock has partnered with Live Nation and Ticketmaster for this new spring and summer trek. The partnership reportedly includes various new terms, but the tour remains routed through the very companies Rock previously criticized.

The Unfiltered Perspective
If you were expecting Kid Rock to lay low after the Nashville flyby drama, you haven’t been paying attention. Opening a tour by essentially “airing the evidence” of a federal inquiry is a bold move that signals he feels completely untouchable. By featuring Pete Hegseth in the cockpit, Rock isn’t just entertaining a crowd; he’s showing the world that his version of “The Southern White House” has its own rules of engagement. Whether it’s the military hardware or the pivot back to Live Nation, Rock remains the undisputed king of doing exactly what he said he wouldn’t.
Kid Rock opened his ‘Freedom 250 Tour’ in Dallas by airing a video of himself and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth flying in AH-64 Apache helicopters. The stunt served as a direct taunt to critics of last week’s unsanctioned mansion flyby. Despite his political stance, Rock has partnered with Live Nation for the tour, which runs through June.
