  • AIRBUS Return with Explosive Fourth Album IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER Out March 7, 2026 via Spira Records – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AIRBUS Return with Explosive Fourth Album IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER Out March 7, 2026 via Spira Records

Bristol UK and Los Angeles USA rock outfit AIRBUS are set to release their fourth studio album, IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER , on March 7, 2026. Landing via Spira Records , the record delivers ten powerful tracks that capture the band’s diverse, experimental edge while staying rooted in timeless rock songwriting.
Blending Rock, Experimental Rock, and a strong ’90s influence, AIRBUS carve out a sound that will resonate with fans of Blur , Fleetwood Mac , and Muse . Big hooks, dynamic shifts, and emotional depth collide across an album that feels both reflective and urgent.
IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER was recorded on both sides of the Atlantic. Early writing sessions took place in an ancient cottage in Portishead known as The Grange, where many of the album’s foundations were laid. The band further shaped their sound in a basement studio in Bristol before completing sessions in various studios across Los Angeles. The result is a record that feels lived in, atmospheric, and sonically expansive.
This is not a concept album. Instead, IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER is a collection of songs examining the inevitability of human nature. From large scale destruction to the quiet implosions within personal relationships, AIRBUS explore how self sabotage, conflict, and cyclical behavior seem hardwired into who we are. The album doesn’t preach. It observes. It reflects. And at times, it hits uncomfortably close to home.
The first video from the album, “Down To Earth,” is now available on the band’s official YouTube channel.

AIRBUS continue to write and record, with additional new and archival material slated for release in the coming years.

    About AIRBUS

AIRBUS formed in 1988 at Gordano School in Portishead when singer and songwriter Nick Davidge invited guitarist James Childs to jam during lunch breaks. Bonded by a shared love of rock music, the duo began trading riffs and crafting songs that would define the band’s early identity.
They were soon joined by drummer Chris Fielden and bassist Simon Hedges, completing a lineup that brought both technical strength and expressive experimentation to their sound. The band quickly gained attention in local and national press for their dynamic songwriting and commanding rhythm section.
The Face once praised the band’s choruses as “crashing in like the sound of God… one of the best new bands this year,” while Venue described them as “tight and energetic, with hooks galore, all drawn together by a phenomenal rhythm section.”
Nearly four decades after those early rehearsals, AIRBUS remain creatively restless, proving that evolution and authenticity can coexist.

  • Courtney Love teases Hole tour with Melissa Auf der Maur

Courtney Love is seemingly teasing a Hole reunion tour with Melissa Auf der Maur.

The singer has taken to Instagram to share a video – soundtracked by the band’s 1998 anthem Malibu – of the bassist with the caption, So do we tell the kids about the tour?” Commenting underneath, Melissa writes, It starts with eternal love…”

Replying to a fan asking, Miss Courtney is this a drill or do I need to get my purse?!??” Courtney also teases her long-awaited second solo album Died Blonde, responding: Died Blonde 2026 new songs. Not 94.”

Happily, then, it looks like things have really changed since a 2021 interview with Courtney, when she told Vogue, No, absolutely not,” when asked about the potential for a proper Hole reunion tour.

You guys have gotta get over it,” she said. Our old manager Peter Mensch calls once a year to ask about a reunion: Hey, just doing my thing I do every year with you and Jimmy Page [of Led Zeppelin].’ And I’m so honoured to be in that company, but it’s just not gonna happen.”

Of course, both artists have also had their own projects in the works lately too. Courtney’s documentary Antiheroine recently hit Sundance, while Melissa’s new 90s rock memoir Even The Good Girls Will Cry will arrive on March 19 via Atlantic Books.

  • SINGLE REVIEW: Donnie Vie – Plain Jane

Somewhere deep in the beating heart of Michigan magic is created… again… After all there are singles… and then there are seismic events disguised as seven inches of spinning salvation. When Donnie Vie releases new music, you don’t just listen — you brace yourself. You steady the furniture. You check the emotional exits. Look after the pets and make sure the fridge is well -stocked… With “Plain Jane” he hasn’t merely dropped a single… he’s detonated a glitter-bomb of love, hooks, and holy rock ’n’ roll righteousness.

“Plain Jane” is Vie doing what Vie does better than anyone breathing in melodic rock: taking bruised romantic fatalism, wrapping it in sugar-scorched harmonies, and launching it straight into your diaphragm. It’s a skyscraper of a chorus — the kind that makes you want to wind down the car window even if it’s raining sideways and let the world hear it. There’s that voice, still gloriously ragged around the edges, still capable of pivoting from a velvet croon to alleyway confession in half a bar. The guitars shimmer like they’ve been dipped in 1978 acid and left to dry in the California sun, but the ache in the melody? It’s timeless. Absolutely timeless… Did I say timeless enuff?

You can hear the DNA strands of power-pop royalty slicing through it — the ghost of Cheap Trick swagger, the melodic craftsmanship that once made Enuff Z’Nuff cult legends — but this is no nostalgia trip. This is a man who is one of the very greatest writers of his generation, a man who has lived every lyric and come back with a sharper pen. “Plain Jane” doesn’t sneer at the ordinary; it elevates it. It finds the poetry in the overlooked, the beauty in the almost-was, the majesty in the maybe.

And then — because subtlety is for civilians — he flips the vinyl and hands us “Instant Karma.” Yes. That “Instant Karma.”

Vie tackling Instant Karma! is not just a cover; it’s a cosmic alignment. The original by John Lennon was already a thunderclap of urgency, but Vie drags it through a technicolour power-pop prism. The pianos land harder, the guitars glow brighter, and the vocal? It simply pleads. There’s defiance in it, but also vulnerability. As if karma isn’t just coming for the world… it’s coming for him too.

It’s gloriously overcooked in all the right ways. Harmonies stacked like an impossibly high stack of cards, waiting to fall but never falling. The drums feel like they’re kicking open barroom doors. The mix is right there in your face with a wonderful lack of subtlety. If the A-side is heartbreak dressed in sequins and lace, the B-side is rock and roll reckoning dressed in platform boots.

And that’s the magic of Donnie Vie. He’s never been interested in half-measures. He writes like the charts still matter, sings like radio is sacred, and records like someone might never give him another chance. Every note feels necessary. Every hook feels fought for. And all of it is pure magic.

No one I’ve heard does Lennon like Vie, no one comes remotely close. Melody is not dead. Big choruses are not passé. And the idea that rock music should aim for anything less than transcendence is quite frankly laughable.

Spin it loud. Spin it twice. Three times… Then flip it and let karma do the rest.

Donnie Vie doesn’t release singles. He releases lifelines, happiness and music that will outlive us all….

It’s been 6 years since ‘Beautiful Things’ was our album of the year. I can’t wait for the next full length…

I’d dearly love a copy, but when postage to Dowunder hits the pocket at $50 – more than the cost of the cost of the single then I’m glad I got sent a download…

    10/10

  • Walkways Share Sentimental New Track ‘All For You’

Walkways have announced that they have signed with Wild Thing Records, and released a song straight from the heart to celebrate.

On the signing, vocalist Ran Yerushalmi exclaimed, “We’re very happy to announce signing with Wild Thing Records. It really feels like working with family – the team has been super attentive, supportive, patient, and eager to help us get this album out to the world, as a gift of support to anyone who may need it.”

Whilst Wild Thing Records Director Eli Chamravi had this to say, stating, “Walkways are a band dear to our hearts. They’ve been through uncertain times, but have refused to let it define them. They continue to persevere, and share their positive message with the world. We’re really proud to be ushering in their highly anticipated new musical era.”

And the song that they have shared, ‘All For You’ goes a long way to bringing that positivity to light. A gruelling mix of modern metalcore and hard rock, it’s a song brimming with soaring anthemics and spine-tingling melodies. Lyrically, it’s an incredible personal outpouring of feeling, ensuring that those who are here when we no longer are have the same hope for a brighter future.

Ran had this to say, showing just how personal the song is, explaining, This song is dedicated to my son, and to everyone who walks with us now and in the future. I love you. I hope my voice, through our music, can offer even a small amount of comfort, warmth, or belonging to anyone who’s going through dark times in their lives right now”.

  • HEALTH Release New Remix EP ‘R-TYPE 1’ & Recent Album ‘CONFLICT DLC’ Out Now

    Photo: Mynxii White

Following the release of their sixth studio album CONFLICT DLC last year, HEALTH are showing no signs of slowing down. Now, the band have released R-TYPE 1, the first in a series of remix EPs that compliment and expand the universe the band created on CONFLICT DLC. Listen/share here: https://i.hlth.band/healthr-type1.

CONFLICT DLC resonated far and wide, receiving praise from the likes of Pitchfork, DIY, Kerrang, Revolver and many more around its release last December. The album is a stack of 12 full-octane industrial metal songs, that sees HEALTH continue to explore deep existential undercurrents through a borderless genre lens. A slate of sad bangers for the end times, CONFLICT DLC finds connection in the disconnect and comfort in the dark.

HEALTH’s unapologetically heavy sound has always pulsed with an electronic undercurrent. Since the bands’ earliest days, they have consistently broadened their sonic world through remixes and reinterpretations of their work, and R-TYPE 1 is no exception. Bringing in artists such as EKKSTACY, Mothica, Street Sex, HVDES and others, the release builds on the originals to carve out an entirely new dimension within the CONFLICT DLC landscape.

    Listen to R-TYPE 1 here:
    https://i.hlth.band/healthr-type1

Having toured across the US, Mexico and South America last year with Pierce The Veil, HEALTH are ready to take their new show on their own co-headline tour next month across North America with Carpenter Brut before heading to Europe for festivals this summer and then Australia in September to tour with Perturbator and King Yosef.

The band will be unleashing their apocalyptic energy on stages throughout the continent, transforming each show into a visceral, full-body experience. Known for channelling chaos into catharsis, their performances fuse crushing riffs, sweeping electronics, and an intensity so consuming it feels more like a ritual than a concert.
