    FrozenSoul_Kate Russell

This morning, death metal outfit Frozen Soul not only announced their new album No Place of Warmth was coming out on May 8 via Century Media, but they dropped a title track that features one of the more al track. Frozen Soul frontman Chad Green said this whole thing came about after meeting a few years ago.

“We met Gerard a couple of years ago and have become friends. I knew he had a love for metal, so I spun the idea to him about singing in a Frozen Soul song and he was stoked! Gerard is an amazing artist and musician whose creative vision has shaped generations and more to come.”

As for the song itself, Green said the title track is “about life at its coldest and the choice you have to let it consume you, or to use it to find warmth in a world that feels void of it. Life is always coming at you, and death doesn’t stop—you might slow it down, but it’s always coming—so you have to make the best out of it and march on.”

  • Broadside Unleash Funky New Track ‘Control Freak’

Broadside have shared a new song, set to appear on their upcoming album ‘Nowhere, At Last’, and it’s sure to get your hips moving.

It’s called ‘Control Freak’ and shows how the band inject plenty of soul and funk into their cathartic pop-punk sound. From the discoball glisten of the riffs to vocalist Oliver Baxxter’s caramel croons, all held together by plenty of cowbell in the background, it’s a multifaceted epic.

Lyrically, though, it’s a bit more dark, as it speaks of how it feels to have everything that you are in the hands of someone else. When you realise that you are being manipulated, and the emotional release that comes with that.

Oliver had this to say about it, explaining, “It’s about being controlled by someone else, and slowly realizing how much of yourself you’ve handed over. The quiet violence of being told it’s all in your head.

‘Nowhere, At Last’ will be released on April 10 via Thriller Records.

It will previously released singles ‘Warning Signs’, ‘Someone You Need’, ‘I Think They Know‘ and ‘Blissed Out‘, and ‘Dark Passenger’, which sounds like this.

The band will return to the UK for Slam Dunk Festival. Taking place on May 23 at Hatfield House, Hatfield and on May 24 at Temple Newsam Park, Leeds. Rubbing shoulders with Good Charlotte, Taking Back Sunday, State Champs and Dashboard Confessional, to name a few, it’s going to be a classic. Grab your tickets from right here.

  • Crown Lands launch live performance video for epic 19-minute track ‘Apocalypse’

Canadian progressive rock duo Crown Lands have steadily emerged as one of the genre’s most ambitious modern voices. Now, the band deliver their new studio album Apocalypse, their most demanding and fully realized work to date, set for release on May 15th, 2026.

The band returned with an epic statement, the 19-minute long lead title-track from the album, and now they are pleased to give fans a look at the song being performed live with a special session video directed by Luke Paron. Dig deeper into the Crown Lands world, with a live film that sees the duo expanding their line-up with additional players:

Kevin Comeau comments: “When we wrote and recorded Apocalypse we knew our studio ambitions finally pushed us away from being able to pull everything off live as a duo. I produced a record last year for an incredible band from Hamilton Ontario called The Dreamland Band. Daniel Walton is an incredible guitarist, bassist and vocalist. Adam Inrig is a ridiculously talented drummer and keyboardist. They are both jazz-school grads and can play our material better than we can. When the conversation came up for additional members for the stage, I knew Dan and Adam were more than up to the task.”

Cody Bowles adds: “As the vision for the live rendition of Apocalypse came together, we knew we wanted to deliver something over-the-top. I thought it would be so cool to embody Blackstar and bring the character to life—developing this concept of the performance as a battle between Blackstar and the Ebonflight.

That brings me to the lovely man behind the camera: Luke Paron.

Luke and I go way back. We went to high school together, but years later we became very close. He’s now one of my best friends and my dungeon master in our evergreen D&D group. We first collaborated with him on the Live Ritual videos, and we absolutely loved how those turned out. So when it came time to capture and conceptualize the mammoth that is Apocalypse, it was a no-brainer. There’s something really special about getting to create cool things with your friends.”

Musically and creatively, Apocalypse marks a clear turning point. After completing Rituals entirely in their home studio, the band gained the confidence to take near-total control of the production process. Guitarist/bassist/keyboardist Kevin Comeau explains, “That record gave us the confidence to realize we could make a Crown Lands album in our own space, without a major-label budget or a big, fancy studio.” That confidence carried directly into Apocalypse, with much of the album written and recorded in the same room the band has worked in since 2020. To enhance the album’s most crucial moments, Crown Lands selectively collaborated with producers Nick Raskulinecz and David Bottrill.

Apocalypse’ will be released as a Ltd CD Edition, Gatefold Neon Yellow LP, Limited Gatefold Neon Green LP & as Digital Album.

  • Atreyu Announce Heaviest Album Yet With ‘The End Is Not The End’

    atreyu-2026

Is The End Is Not The End Atreyu’s Heaviest Album Ever?

Yes — frontman Brandon Saller says it’s “our heaviest, most metal record we’ve made,” while also calling it the biggest musical journey the band has taken in years.

    TL;DR

    • Atreyu release The End Is Not The End on April 24 via Spinefarm
    • New single “All For You” arrives with an official music video
    • The band says this is their heaviest and most adventurous record yet
    • Songs were written during sessions in Tokyo and on San Juan Island
    • “Children Of Light” features Max Cavalera

There was a time when Atreyu didn’t make sense on paper.

Too metallic for emo. Too melodic for metal purists. Too aggressive for radio — yet somehow still landing there. That tension is what made them dangerous in the first place.

Now, nearly 25 years in, they’re tapping back into that unpredictability.

The End Is Not The End drops April 24, and if early singles “Dead” and “Ego Death” were the warning shots, the new track “All For You” makes it official — this is not a safe record.

Get Your 2026 Atreyu Tickets Here

Why This Album Feels Like A Reset

Brandon Saller puts it bluntly: what made Atreyu great early on was that they didn’t sound like anyone else.

They weren’t chasing scenes. They weren’t neatly packaged. They carved their own lane.

    That mindset guided this album.

Produced by Matt Pauling, The End Is Not The End is described as both classic and unfamiliar — cinematic yet raw, emotionally heavy but unconcerned with trends. It swings between soaring melody and muscular metallic force without apology.

If you’ve been spinning heavier cuts on the Loaded Radio stream lately, you’ve probably felt this shift in the broader scene too — bands reclaiming weight instead of sanding it down.

    Atreyu clearly noticed.

    atreyu-band-promo-2024

    Tokyo Sparked It

Part of this album was written during creative sessions in Tokyo — and the change of environment mattered.

Saller said the band felt like kids again. Mornings were spent writing. Evenings were spent wandering, absorbing inspiration. The first finished track from those sessions? “Dead.”

They knew immediately they were onto something.

    Then came the polar opposite.

    Isolation Turned The Volume Up

After Japan, the band decamped to San Juan Island off Washington’s coast. No distractions. No city lights. Just isolation.

They didn’t leave the house for four days — and some of the heaviest material on the record came out of it.

That contrast — chaos and solitude — is baked into the album’s DNA.

It explains how you get songs that feel both expansive and claustrophobic at the same time.

    A Guest That Makes Sense

“Children Of Light” features Max Cavalera — and that pairing tells you exactly where parts of this record lean sonically.

    The track list also includes:

    1. The End Is Not The End
    2. Dead
    3. Break Me
    4. All For You
    5. Ghost In Me
    6. Glass Eater
    7. Wait My Love, I’ll Be Home Soon
    8. Ego Death
    9. Death Rattle
    10. Children Of Light
    11. In The Dark
    12. Afterglow
    13. Break The Glass

This is album number ten for Atreyu — and it doesn’t sound like a band coasting.

    atreyu-the-end-is-not-the-end

    Why This Matters Now

Atreyu have over a billion streams worldwide. Multiple RIAA gold records. Top 20 Billboard 200 debuts. Their 2023 album The Beautiful Dark Of Life debuted Top 10 on Billboard’s Hard Rock chart and has already surpassed 75 million streams.

They don’t need to prove anything.

Which makes it interesting that they’re choosing to get heavier instead of safer.

That’s usually a sign of a band that still cares.

They’ll also hit the road this spring supporting Sevendust, kicking off April 20 in Indianapolis before wrapping May 20 in Knoxville.

The End Is Not The End doesn’t feel like nostalgia. It feels like intention.

    And sometimes that’s more dangerous.
