BITTER REVEAL OFFICIAL COVER ART FOR UPCOMING EP SLAMOSAURUS REX FOLLOWING SIGNING WITH CDN Records AND RELEASE OF “MALEVOLENT”
Montreal, Quebec – June, 2026 – Quebec slamming beatdown deathcore unit Bitter are keeping the pressure on with a full visual reveal for their upcoming EP Slamosaurus Rex , arriving alongside the momentum of their recent signing to CDN Records and the release of their blistering single “Malevolent” and its official video.
No slow roll. No mystery buildup. Just straight impact.
The newly revealed Slamosaurus Rex artwork doubles down on Bitter’s identity, loud, aggressive, and unashamedly heavy. It matches the tone the band has already set with “Malevolent,” a track built on crushing breakdowns, chaotic precision, and that ugly, sharpened edge the band has been carving since forming in late 2024.
If the single was the warning shot, the cover art is the stamp. This is what Bitter looks like when everything is fully locked in.

ABOUT THE BAND
Bitter is a slamming beatdown deathcore band formed in December 2024, bringing together members from Montreal, Lanaudière, and Gatineau, Quebec. The project was founded by father and son Yan Chatel and Kilian Langlois-Chatel, later expanding into a full lineup built on chemistry, trust, and shared aggression.
Current lineup:
Kilian Langlois-Chatel – Lead Vocals
Michael Lalancette – Guitar and electronics
Mathieu Parent – Guitar
Eric Cooper-Lefebvre – Drums
Yan Chatel – Bass and backing vocals
Their sound pulls influence from Xenotheory, Kanine, and The Acacia Strain, but filters it through a darker, more sarcastic edge. Bitter leans into violent imagery and exaggerated metaphor, delivered with intent and control rather than chaos for chaos’ sake.
PRODUCTION
“Malevolent” was produced, mixed, and mastered by Michael Lalancette, delivering a tight, punishing mix where every layer hits with clarity and force.
THE ROAD AHEAD
With Slamosaurus Rex now visually unveiled and CDN Records behind them, Bitter are pushing into 2026 with full momentum. More releases, more noise, no brakes.
This is not a soft landing. This is impact.

Alexis Taylor & Mike Simonetti – “I See A Darkness” (Bonnie “Prince” Billy Cover)
Earlier this year, Hot Chip’s Alexis Taylor released the very good and slightly slept-on solo album Paris In The Spring. Not long after that, he teamed up with Mike Simonetti, co founder of the Italians Do It Better label, to drop the absolute banger “Perfect Kiss.” The 12″ single version of “Perfect Kiss” is out later this week, and now we get to hear another track, an unlikely cover of an indie-folk classic.

Open Mike Eagle & Kenny Segal Announce New Album Doomed!: Hear “Unfinished Concrete Initials” (Feat. Hemlock Ernst)
LA-based rapper Open Mike Eagle and producer Kenny Segal are both staples of the underground rap universe. They’ve known each other for decades, and they’ve worked together many times over the years. Last year, OME released his album Neighborhood Gods Unlimited, and Segal produced lead single “contraband (the plug has bags of me).” Segal really thrives when he’s making full-length collaborations with rappers like billy woods or K-The-I??? Today, we get the very welcome news that Open Mike Eagle and Kenny Segal have made an entire collaborative LP.

AN NCS VIDEO PREMIERE: AGONIA BLACK VOMIT — “TENEBRE E SANGUE”
(written by Islander) The last time we premiered music here from the Italian black metal band Agonia Black Vomit, in the run-up toward their second album Cosmosatanic Wisdom in 2017, we focused on how surprising the songs were, and how significantly they varied from each other in their sounds and moods — much more varied […]
