Ghalia Volt has announced a new album, Burn The House Down, set for release on May 15 via Ruf Records. The New Orleans-based artist has also released the lead single and video, “Ride.”
The album was produced by JD Simo and recorded in Nashville. “Ride” serves as the first preview of the project, highlighting Volt’s mix of blues and rock influences.
Volt moved from Belgium to New Orleans in 2016, a shift that helped shape her approach to American roots music. That same year, she released Have You Seen My Woman. She followed with Let the Demons Out in 2017 and later developed a one-woman band setup, performing vocals, guitar, and percussion simultaneously.
Her 2019 release Mississippi Blend reached No. 3 on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. She followed with Shout Sister Shout! in 2023, which peaked at No. 2. Volt has continued to tour and record steadily, building a catalog rooted in blues while incorporating elements of rock and other styles.
Volt was also featured on 60 Minutes alongside Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, highlighting her role among a newer generation of blues artists.
Volt will support the new album with an extensive tour across the United States in 2026.
