Today, Nashville’s country rockers Cody Parks and the Dirty South officially signed with Frontiers Label Group via BLKIIBLK. To mark the occasion, the band dropped their new single “Snake Shaker.” This continues a streak of impressive signings by the label since its inception last year, following the acquisitions of Megadeth, Cro-Mags, and Biohazard. Cody Parks shared his enthusiasm over the news :
“I’m beyond excited and blessed to be a part of the BLKIIBLK/Frontiers family. The opportunity to work with industry veterans Jeff Stevenson, Tom Lipsky, and Bob Chiappardi was a no-brainer. Having a team that is aligned with my vision for Country Metal makes this the perfect home for my music, and I can’t wait for the world to hear what we have cookin.”
On the new single, he continues:
“‘Snake Shaker’ is a textbook example of our brand. When I started making Country Metal years ago, I wanted to make heavy metal music and tell stories about some of the more unheard-of, potentially unnerving things people might encounter in the South. ‘Snake Shaker’ is exactly that.”

CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH have been described in a press release as ” redefining what a Nashville band can sound like”. Led by singer and songwriter Cody Parks, the group fuses the Southern country with the power of Classic heavy metal, which they affectionately refer to as “Country Metal”. I am quite sure Kid Rock attempted something like this in the 2000’s with his firebrand vision of country rap.
What started as a vision for Parks became a full-force band in 2019 when he assembled a group of musicians who shared a similar passion for for big riffs and high energy rock attitude, Drawing inspiration from l acts like Metallica, Ratt, and Pantera, CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH deliver music built on crushing guitars, driving rhythms, and hard hitting chorueses.
The band’s genre-bending mashup “Thunder Cash ’69,” from their 2023 covers EP ‘Smothered & Covered,’ appeared online and across streaming platforms. The track went on to top the iTunes Rock chart in three countries and reach #3 on Billboard’s Rock Digital Song Sales chart, introducing a wide audience to the band’s unique blend of country authenticity and metal intensity.
That momentum recently led to the band signing a new record deal with BLKIIBLK / Frontiers Music, setting the stage for the next chapter of Country Metal. With releases like ‘Country Metal, Vol. 1’ , CODY PARKS AND THE DIRTY SOUTH are hoping to prove that country and metal belong on the same stage.

Masterplan have unleashed their new single and official video, “Through The Storm”, another taste of the upcoming new studio album, Metalmorphosis, set for release on June 26, 2026, via Frontiers Music Srl.
The band commented, “We absolutely love this one! It’s pure metal: straightforward, energetic, and fun in its own way. The song was inspired by our experience playing metal cruises last year, including one crazy show on deck during a storm with freezing wind and heavy waves. That wild energy is exactly what this track is about. The video captures that spirit perfectly – we’re just having fun, but even tough conditions can’t stop us from playing and enjoying what we do”.
Masterplan are also gearing up for their upcoming European tour, starting on April 12. For the full list of dates and/or to get tickets, check here.
Grapow expressed his enthusiasm for the record – the first new songs since Novum Initium, released in 2013: “Metalmorphosis really captures what this album means to us: a transformation, but still true to the spirit of Masterplan. We’ve grown over the years, both as musicians and as people, and you can hear that in the new songs. Some ideas go back many years, and now they’ve finally come to life. It’s powerful, melodic, and emotional – classic Masterplan, but with a new energy”.
Masterplan stand among the most enduring and influential names in German power metal. Founded in 2001 by guitarist Roland Grapow and drummer Uli Kusch following their exit from Helloween, the band quickly established a distinctive identity built on strong melodies, technical precision, and an epic yet modern metal approach.
Their self-titled debut album, released in 2003, was met with widespread critical acclaim and immediate chart success, setting the standard for a career defined by consistency and evolution.
Over the years, Masterplan have released several highly regarded albums – including Aeronautics, MK II, Time To Be King, and Novum Initium – each showcasing refined songwriting and a powerful balance between classic power metal energy and progressive elements.
Their work earned them international recognition, extensive touring across Europe and beyond, and industry accolades that confirmed their status as a leading force in the genre.
After a prolonged hiatus from studio releases, Masterplan have re-emerged with renewed creative drive. The band recently signed a new worldwide deal with Frontiers Music SRL, marking a significant milestone and the beginning of a new chapter in their career.
This partnership sets the stage for their long-awaited return with a brand-new studio album, Metalmorphosis, representing both transformation and continuity: a heavier, more aggressive edge combined with the melodic sophistication that has always defined Masterplan’s sound.
With renewed focus, sharpened songwriting, and decades of experience behind them, Masterplan are poised to reaffirm their relevance and deliver one of the most anticipated power metal releases of the year.

For this track premiere, we’re introducing a cut, “Green Spa (Cold Region Version),” by Japanese avant stoner doom trio, Hylko, which is their contribution to a split single with Norwegian noiseniks, Barren Womb. Hylko bring a truly unusual musical orientation—Nori Shio (bass), TofuckG (drums), Moock (vocals/djembe)—to the split, though sonically you might not really notice the lack of guitar, as Shio plays a thick, distorted five-string bass and Moock’s djembe (an African hand drum) is only really used to color the psychedelic track (complete with watery sound effects replicating the sounds of a hot spring, apprently). It’s five-plus minutes of mesmirizing fuzzed out sonic sludge with indecipherable lyrics—could be Japanese, could be English, we have no idea.
The track was produced and recorded by Yukito Okazaki (Eternal Elysium) at Studio Zen. It’s set for release digitally via Fucking North Pole Records and Captured Records on March 20. Place your presave here.
Bassist Nori Shio had this to say about Hyklo’s contribution to the split single:
“This groovy and heavy riff, using the lowest notes of the five-string bass, is about a journey to a hot spring in search of the truth. This is one of our most recent representative songs, where our djembe player, Moock, now also sings, giving us a richer sound. As this is a split with a band from the frigid land of Norway, our track is a cold-climate version, and engineer Yukito Okazaki (Eternal Elysium) has added sound effects of Japanese hot springs.”
Los Angeles thrash/death metal duo Whipworm return with their fifth full-length album, “Death Beyond,” a conceptual journey that pushes the band’s signature blend of aggression, intensity and storytelling even further. “Death Beyond” follows the story of a man who receives a mysterious letter describing future events that should be impossible to know. As the story unfolds, he soon realizes […]
Today, new/old Swedish black metallers Daemonium Regni reveal the new track “Spiritus in Flammo.” The track is the second to be revealed from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, Daemonium Regni, set for international release on April 17th via Darkness Shall Rise Productions. “Spiritus in Flammo” is written as a blasphemy and an insult to the church. The word “Spiritus” refers to an intangible essence or […]
