  • Alissa White-Gluz returns with new band, Blue Medusa

After announcing her departure from Arch Enemy last November, Alissa White-Gluz has revealed the first details of her new band, Blue Medusa.

Breaking the news on International Women’s Day, the singer called the new band, the next evolution of everything I’ve been building toward for years.

It’s my creative melting pot. Everything fans enjoy about the energy, intensity, and performance they’ve always experienced on stage with me over the past two decades is still here, even stronger. That is me, that is who I am and who I’ve always been. And now it’s amplified and unleashed in a fully sovereign artistic vision. Our music has blazing guitar solos, crushing riffs, brutal vocals, fast and aggressive drums, thoughtful melodies and most importantly (to me), really cogitative lyrics.”

Introducing her new bandmates, guitarists Alyssa Day and Dani Sophia, drummer Delaney Jaster and bassist Alicia Vigil, Alissa says that this new outfit has reignited her spark again,

The musical chemistry I feel with these women is really bringing me back to life. It is so refreshing and exciting,” she says. I specifically chose to share this news on International Women’s Day because building stronger platforms for women in heavy music is something I care deeply about.”

Immediately after departing Arch Enemy, with whom she’d sung for 12 years, Alissa released the single The Room Where She Died. It’s unclear whether that will be part of this new band, but they’re working on new material, and heading to Kentucky’s Louder Than Life and California’s Aftershock festivals later this year.

I am brewing up a lot of ideas right now, my brain is in full creative flow. I’ve been carving my own path in this genre for a long time, and I want to help pave the way for the next generation of women who love metal as much as I do. Medusa turned people to stone… I want to pave the road in sapphire.”

  • WATCH: Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante Join Illenium For Performance Of ‘Shivering’

Illenium has continued to make his Las Vegas Sphere residency incredibly special, with a guest appearance from Spiritbox’s Courtney LaPlante.

The two collaborated back in 2022 on ‘Shivering’, a spellbinding and sensational brash piece of crossover mayhem, which would eventually appear on Illenium’s 2023 self-titled full-length.

And when called upon to perform it live on one of the most grand stages you will ever see, Courtney made it look like light work. From the crystalline melodies to the crushing breakdown at its close, it is a spine-tingling display to say the least. The sort of moment that further cements why the relationship between metal and EDM is so iron-clad, and that should be celebrated and applauded as much as possible.

Matched with the pyro and awe-inspiring visuals that Sphere makes possible, it’s a true spectacle.

Check out footage posted by none other than Pale Chord below.

If you’re in Vegas, you need to try to see this show for yourself. Here are the remaining dates.

  • Alice Cooper Announces Devil On My Shoulder Memoir And 8-Date UK Book Tour

Devil On My Shoulder - Alice Cooper Book Tour

Alice Cooper has announced the release of his definitive autobiography, Devil On My Shoulder, due via Ebury Spotlight on 8 October 2026, alongside an intimate eight-date UK Q&A book tour. The memoir promises to pull back the curtain on one of rock’s most extraordinary careers, tracing six decades of music, mayhem and reinvention.

Devil On My Shoulder explores the two sides of Alice Cooper, the shock-rock character who terrified parents and thrilled audiences, and Vincent Damon Furnier, the pastor’s son behind the greasepaint. Cooper says the story follows their shared journey through pioneering rock ‘n’ roll, excess, addiction, survival and redemption.

“I’ve lived my life with an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other. Welcome to my nightmare,” Cooper says. He also describes the memoir as a chance to sort truth from rumour after more than 60 years of stories, myths and larger-than-life legend.

The UK tour will give fans the chance to hear those stories in person, with Q&A appearances scheduled for Cardiff, Cambridge, London, Brighton, Manchester, Stockton, Glasgow and Wolverhampton in October 2026.

Each ticket includes entry and a copy of the book. General on-sale begins at 10 am on Friday 13 March 2026. For tickets, visit aegpresents.co.uk/event/alice-cooper Devil On My Shoulder is priced at £25 in hardback. For more details, visit alicecooper.com

  • Dee Snider on Why He Retired: “I Would’ve Been A Shadow Of My Former Self”

Daniel „Dee“ Snider from Twisted Sister

It was a headline I know I didn’t expect after covering the apparent reunion of Twisted Sister: Dee Snider was stepping down from touring with the band because of ongoing health concerns. Though that initially set the band’s future plans into jeopardy, remaining original members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda decided that they should still do something to celebrate the band’s 50th anniversary.

Flash forward to last week and not only is the band going to play some shows, but they’ve recruited ex-Skid Row vocalist Sebastian Bach to fill in for Snider. Now, with that major change in place, Snider’s out here singing Bach’s praises, letting every media outlet know that he’s in favor of the move and really wants to support what the band’s doing without him.

“I totally approve of Sebastian Bach stepping in for me. He’s a true fan & will honor what I did with every show! My son Jesse and Bas are the only people I believe can deliver. Bas got the call.”

With the lineup for Twisted Sister now set as Bach, French, Ojeda, bassist Russell Pzütto, and drummer Joey Cassata, the reunion shows are once again on, though just one date is set: the Alaska State Fair on September 4.

While speaking with fans on Twitter, Snider said his decision to step down came at the right time, as he wanted to make sure fans get the best performance they should get.

“For a retired 71 yr old I’m great. But I’ve only got so much tread left on these tires. I decided to use it for the rest of my journey…and not burn them up on stage trying to prove I’m as good as I ever was. I can live with that choice. I would’ve been a shadow of my former self out there anyway.”

When it comes to Bach taking over, Snider said he was extremely supportive of the move.

“I love Sebastian Bach! During the darkest period of my career, he stood tall as a Dee Snider fan when few would. I will always be grateful to him for not caring what was ‘cool’ at the moment and speaking proudly for the things he loved.”

As for Bach, the chance to front Twisted Sister is a pretty exciting opportunity, especially since he’s been a fan of the band for decades.

“I love Dee Snider. I will always love the music he has made. No matter how much Dee sees himself as ‘hair metal,’ I will always see him on a much higher level than that implies. He is one of the greatest frontmen and vocalists of all time. Any corny label less than that is an insult.”
