  • GRAVEYARD Announces New Album “Fever” & Shares Dates For Fall Europe Tour With BLUES PILLS

One of the most distinctive and revered forces in rock music, Sweden’s Graveyard has announced October 9th, 2026, as the release date for their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Fever. Three years after the dreamlike haze of much-lauded previous record Six, the band returns with a heavier, more direct sound — while still carrying the blues-soaked soul that defined their breakthrough album Hisingen Blues.

Graveyard commented: “Alright folks. Here it is — album number 7, Fever. Haven’t we always had it? The itch, the burn, and the restlessness. The urge to push forward into the fog. Even with the teeth of hopelessness snapping at our asses and all the smoke and mirrors of our time telling us we’ve got no future. Come what may. Let’s go!

This time around, we decided to waste no time. No outside producer. No detours. Just Graveyard, straight to the point, doing what we do best. This just might be our greatest album so far! Hope you like it, too.”

The striking artwork for Fever was created by acclaimed Dutch artist Maarten Donders, whose powerful and expressive visual style has been showcased at the renowned cult festival Roadburn. Over the years, Donders has created artwork for more than 50 artists, ranging from Acid King to Frank Zappa.

Handling mixing duties is Pelle Gunnerfeldt, celebrated for capturing the raw intensity of bands such as The Hives and Refused, while more recently working with Viagra Boys.

Furthermore, Graveyard has confirmed the first leg of their 2026 / 2027 tour with Blues Pills. Scroll down for all confirmed shows. Stay tuned for more European dates to be announced!

  • DS Photo Gallery & Show Review: The Slackers / Jory Kinjo and the Relays (Ironwood – Calgary, AB 5/21/2026 & 5/22/2026)

Last weekend, Calgary experienced an incredible two-night run with The Slackers at Inglewood’s Ironwood Stage & Grill. Jory Kinjo and the Relays were alongside as the local supporting act, and both nights were sold out.

Nestled in the heart of Calgary is the old Garry Theatre, now home to the Ironwood. This venue features a cozy atmosphere and an ideal layout for intimate live performances, with tables surrounding a small dance floor in front of the stage. While the kitchen served up delicious food, the bar kept the drinks flowing, and the crowd buzzed with excitement, all eager to dive into an eclectic night filled with reggae and ska.

Jory Kinjo and the Relays kicked off both evenings, instantly getting everyone off their seats and out on the dance floor each night. Their energetic set boasted crowd favourites like “Spooky Reggae” and “Timebomb,” as well as a rendition of the Jackson 5 classic, “I Want You Back.” Tracks like “Don’t Wanna Miss the Dance” had guys and gals skankin’ across the floor, creating a captivating vibe. On the second night, the excitement surged as The Slackers’ Vic Ruggiero joined the band on stage for “Tighten Up Your Gird,” a song Jory and Vic had written and recorded together. Vic’s undeniable stage presence sent the audience into a frenzy, while the laid-back reggae rhythms had people tapping their feet and swaying to the music. Proving, as usual, Jory Kinjo and the Relays are the perfect openers for The Slackers.

Hailing from New York City, The Slackers have always had a special connection with Calgary. Over the years, they’ve made numerous visits for shows and solo gigs. This recent appearance at the Ironwood marked their return to the venue after nearly two decades. The energy of their live shows is consistently entertaining and spontaneous, with two sold-out nights in Calgary, we were in for a treat. Both nights, The Slackers seduced the audience with impressive horn solos and infectious dance grooves, while also improvising on their iconic tunes. Their stage presence was engaging, with comical banter woven throughout their set each night. Each evening The Slackers had a different setlist, while keeping a few hits for both nights, like “Watch This,” “Wasted Days,” and “Have the Time;” as well as a newer track, “Hold On.” The remaining songs varied each night, as did the atmosphere.

On the first night, a chunk of the crowd were newcomers, so The Slackers ensured they left satisfied. Treating the audience to beloved tracks like “Sarah,” “This is the Night,” and “International War Criminal,” the crowd danced throughout their set. Vic Ruggiero (vocals, organ, tambourine, harmonica) educated us on how the Germans pour a perfect pint, amusing the audience and laughing at his own instructions. As the night wrapped up, the band took requests, and Glen Pine (vocals, trombone) decided on an exotic twist, playing “Minha Menina,” – a track you don’t hear live often. And although they didn’t do an encore, tomorrow they would return for another show.

Friday night marked their second and final performance, and it was a bit rowdier. Both nights were sold out, but Friday felt packed to the brim. Bassist Marcus Geard made a striking entrance in a stunning purple pinstripe suit, instantly wowing the crowd. The Slackers kicked off the night in the same manner as the evening before, playing songs like “Old Dog” and “I Still Love You”; the crowd sang along the entire time. Tracks like “Married Girl” and “Sooner or Later” had the audience screaming for more. This time they returned for an encore. Again, they invited the crowd to make requests; “Happy Song” and Bon Jovi’s “Dead or Alive” were among the chosen. As the evening drew to a close, the audience felt a wave of bittersweet emotion, reluctant to let go of such a memorable night. Dave Hillyard (Sax) couldn’t help but laugh that two nights simply weren’t enough—he was right.

Both nights with The Slackers were truly stellar. Calgarians appreciated getting two shows and we showed our gratitude by selling out both nights. It’s clear that The Slackers have a special place in their hearts for Calgary, and I can confirm that Calgary feels the same way about them. We’re already counting down the days until their next tour!

  • Doom/Sludge Exponents TOMB SLAB Prepare To Release Tomb Slab on Road To Masochist

The first foundation stones for what would become the brutal architecture of Tomb Slab were laid back in 2024. The Atrocity Exhibit guitarist James Caygill and The Infernal Sea vocalist Dean Lettice discovered their mutual admiration for the anarchic, angry sludge of bands like Iron Monkey and Eyehategod – and slowly words and thoughts became riffs and lyrics, which then became early, rough […]

  • Armored Saint Presents “Every Man-Any Man” Video

    – June 2nd, 2026 –

“Emotion Factory Reset” Full-Length Out Now!

ARMORED SAINT today presents their video for “Every Man-Any Man.” The track comes off the band’s critically-lauded new full-length, Emotion Factory Reset, out now on Metal Blade Records.

‘Any man has his price’ is a more familiar phrase and that’s the theme, but we didn’t want to call it that,” recalls vocalist John Bush on the track, “It was too obvious. We said, ‘How about we call the first part of the line ‘every man-any man’ and then stop there.’ The intro guitar part almost has this Andy Summers/Police vibe. Then [Joey Vera] goes into the cool bass groove. That’s vintage Joey; he’s such a grooving bass player, and it sounds super unique; you probably won’t hear a groove like that from too many metal bands.

Combined with [drummer] Gonzo [Sandoval], sometimes the grooves that they combine on are essential to ARMORED SAINT’s sound and have been for years. When those two guys are locked in, it’s pretty awesome, because it’s like they could be playing in the Commodores. That’s the feeling that, I think, is the beauty of ARMORED SAINT; it takes it to another place that a lot of bands can’t go to in the metal world. That’s a perfect example of it.”

Adds Vera, “I liked the idea of having the verse, music, and chorus be the same music parts, but with different vocal parts. This idea was inspired by a song by the band The Police. I also wanted to add all the kitchen sink ingredients, so there are nods to Foo Fighters, Thin Lizzy, and it all ends with a crushing ARMORED SAINT riff.”

Emotion Factory Reset, ARMORED SAINT‘s ninth studio album, is a resurrection of sorts, a tearing down and a rebuilding in eleven songs of diverse musicality and lyrical themes. Produced, as were the previous four albums, by bassist Joey Vera and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour), the record finds the quintet challenging themselves. Songs like “Close To The Bone,” “Hit A Moonshot,” and “Every Man-Any Man” have ARMORED SAINT honoring their past as one of the most respected and recognizable bands in heavy music while making forward-thinking music rooted in the present.

Emotion Factory Reset was recorded across several studios including 606 Studios, Secret Hand Studios, Skullseven Studios, Constantine Studios, and Bridge Recording, engineered by Oliver Roman, Bill Metoyer, Joey Vera, and Jason Constantine, and features cover art by DDKing.

The record is available now on CD digipack (w/ 20-page booklet) and digital formats as well as vinyl in the following color variants:

…another ARMORED SAINT album that defies time and trend. And aside from the obvious fact that listening to John Bush sing just about anything is always a rare pleasure, Emotion Factory Reset is such a glowing example of what happens when a band of brothers block out the rest of the world to plough their own musical furrow that it would take an absurd degree of cynicism to regard it as anything other than a triumph. Few albums this year will warm the heart like this one. ARMORED SAINT still rocks harder and smarter than the rest.” – Blabbermouth

…ARMORED SAINT still possess plenty of fire and bite – something one cannot always say about a band that has been active since 1980… If ARMORED SAINT continues to maintain this level of quality, I honestly couldn’t care less about the – now, after all, five-year – intervals between their studio albums-provided, of course, that they keep producing albums as strong as this one!” – Break Out Germany Album Of The Month

Taking this album at face value would be a big mistake. At its core, yes, they’re the same musicians playing the same acrobatic riffs, awesome bass lines, nimble and forceful drumming, with Bush’s mighty vocals on top. But repeated listens will reveal new details and avenues they haven’t really explored before, which goes to prove these musicians might be older, but ultimately wiser. Their muscle memory is surely there, but so is their willingness to evolve and find new ways to be pulverizing and heavy.” – Loud Hailer

The world’s most consistently excellent metal band… the fact that a band in their early-to-mid-sixties once again delivers a level of quality that 99.9 percent of their younger competition can’t even dream of deserves the utmost respect. May deafness not overtake us for a long time to come!” – Rock Hard Germany

While they established their signature style many, many years ago, they still manage to give it a fresh coat of paint on every album. Their ninth studio album… once again explores that familiar territory situated between gripping heavy metal and virtuosic, gritty hard rock. And yet, at no point do you get the feeling that you’ve heard this song or that one before.” – Deaf Forever

…a bold, versatile album from a band that creates unmistakably meaningful metal music.” – Brave Words

42 years since ARMORED SAINT dropped that debut album, they remain a vibrant force in the world of Metal.” – Metal Talk

More than four decades on, ARMORED SAINT remains a band whose commitment and craft ensure they are still well worth hearing.” – Hotel Hobbies

…the record feels energized, focused, and surprisingly hungry. ARMORED SAINT leans into what they do best: sharp songwriting, emotional weight, and riffs that sound both classic and fresh.” – Maximum Volume Music
