  • Ozzy Osbourne Posthumously Honored with Lifetime Achievement Award and Tribute at BRIT Awards

ozzy brit awards 2026-03-01 at 7.46

If only Ozzy could’ve been there in the flesh for this. The metal god received a posthumous Lifetime Achievement award along with a star-studded tribute at the 2026 BRIT Awards last night, February 28 in Manchester, England. Watch videos of the performances and the award honoring, which show Ozzy’s wife Sharon and daughter Kelly accepting it on his behalf, below.

Many familiar faces turned up in Ozzy’s honor, like Dolly Parton, who zoomed in from Nashville to say some heartfelt words:

“Ozzy Osbourne dedicated his entire life to music and his legacy has left a permanent imprint in the fabric of music lovers everywhere. Now talk about stealing the show.

“Ozzy knew how to get your attention with his love of theatrics, his musical gifts — he could turn any occasion into a full-blown show. And at his very core, Ozzy Osbourne was a showman. His legacy has left a permanent imprint on music lovers everywhere.”

Dolly then introduced his wife Sharon Osbourne, who also shared some emotional words alongside her daughter Kelly:

“I’m honored to accept this award for my gorgeous husband. God knows I wish he was here to accept it himself… Ozzy is looking down on us right now… He rose to become one of the most recognizable and respected musicians. … To be honest with you, he was the most humble egomaniac you will ever meet. At the end of the day, he will always be a rock star… If Ozzy was here tonight … he would be so proud to receive this from the country that he loved.”

The tribute performances closed out the award show last night, featuring a Sharon-curated special arrangement of “No More Tears” done by several of Ozzy’s collaborators throughout the years: Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos and Zakk Wylde; and was fronted by British pop singe3r Robbie Williams. It was quite the scene.

Stacey Tang, the chair of the 2026 BRIT Awards committee and co-president of RCA Records at Sony Music U.K., had this to say of honoring the Prince of Darkness:

“Ozzy Osbourne has been a mighty force in modern music. Possessing an unmistakable voice and unique presence, he reshaped the sound and spirit of rock, inspiring generations of artists who followed. This Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes a remarkable legacy built on originality and enduring influence, that continues to connect with fans worldwide.”

Mumford & Sons played SNL for the fourth time last night. They did “Rubber Band Man” and “Here,” two songs from their new album Prizefighter; Hozier joined them to sing his parts on the former song, while Sierra Ferrell sang on the latter in lieu of Chris Stapleton, who sings on the studio version. For both songs, Mumford & Sons had backup from Aaron Dessner, who co-produced Prizefighter.

  • JOANOVARC Return With UK Tour And New Single ‘Mechanical Overlords’

There’s no stopping JoanOvArc. Riding high on the success of their recent EP, ‘Escape The Fire’, which delivered a run of singles championed by Kerrang! Radio and Planet Rock, alongside an extensive touring schedule, the unrelenting hard rockers continue their charge into 2026. Following last year’s singles, ‘You Don’t Know’ and ‘Hey Sister’, the band return with their hugely engulfing new single, ‘Mechanical Overlords’, out now.

2026 promises to be a defining year for JoanOvArc as the band turns the page to their most exciting chapter yet. This includes the launch of the No More Masters tour, and the official introduction of Immy Cliff as the band’s new bass player. A multi-instrumentalist with a unique blend of classical training and hard rock power, Cliff brings renewed intensity, precision, and dynamic force to JoanOvArc’s live performances and future releases. Alongside the tour, more new music and festival appearances are planned, with the band’s live show remaining resolutely all killer, no filler.

Since forming in 2015, JoanOvArc have built a formidable legacy. From their debut album Ride of Your Life, recorded at Rockfield Studios with legendary producer Gil Norton (Foo Fighters), to extensive global touring across Europe, Japan, the Middle East, the Caribbean, and the USA, including a headline performance at Hollywood’s iconic Viper Room, the band have consistently pushed boundaries and broken into new territories. With a discography that includes three acclaimed albums: Ride of Your Life (2016), JoanOvArc (2019), and Invisible Enemy (2022), alongside 2024’s Escape The Fire EP, their back catalogue is as impressive as it is expansive.

Now poised to enter a valiant new era, JoanOvArc’s evolution is fronted by the alluring power of Mechanical Overlords. The band explain: “The single was inspired by the accelerating dominance of technology and humanity’s role in creating forces it can no longer control. The song reflects on technological hubris, digital ghosts, and the erosion of human agency.” With a packed live schedule throughout 2026, and further releases on the way, JoanOvArc are set to reaffirm their status as one of the UK’s must-see hard rock bands.

    JoanOvArc live:
February 27 – Call To The Wild Trailblazer, Corporation, Sheffield
    March 08 – International Women’s Day, Club 85, Hitchin
March 21 – The Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton

  • SEPULTURA Announce Farewell Release ‘THE CLOUD OF UNKNOWING’ EP + Reveal Track ‘The Place’

As the curtain falls on an extraordinary career spanning more than four decades, SEPULTURA are preparing to close their final chapter at the end of this year. With over 40 years of band history, 14 gold records, and performances across more than 80 countries, SEPULTURA stand as Brazil’s uncompromising emissary to the global stage and one of today’s most influential metal bands.

Currently bringing their pioneering sound to audiences worldwide on the ‘Celebrating Life Through Death‘ farewell tour, the question has arisen: how should SEPULTURA mark the end of such a monumental journey? The answer came naturally: By capturing a final creative moment and preserving it for posterity.

The result is The Cloud of Unknowing EP, set to be released on April 24th via Nuclear Blast Records.

The Cloud of Unknowing EP is one of SEPULTURA’s most diverse and emotionally resonant releases. Across four tracks, the EP serves as a bittersweet farewell, showcasing the full spectrum of the band’s creativity, reflecting both the ferocity and depth that have defined SEPULTURA’s legacy.

SEPULTURA have today released EP track ‘The Place‘, which vocalist Derrick Green sheds some light on: “This song deals with immigrants who have come to a place seeking refuge and start a new life. Once assimilated into a false sense of security and relentless propaganda they began to act out against what they hate about themselves. The transition begins to escape from the self hatred and the lashing out against people who believed in the same ideas. I feel the lyrics truly follow the transitions of the song. Starting with disappointment and arriving at anger.”

  • THE TEMPER TRAP Release New Single ‘Into The Wild’

    Photo: Zimmermann Alberto

The Temper Trap return with new single ‘Into The Wild’, the latest in a run of new music that has firmly re-established the band as one of Australia’s most enduring and globally recognised acts: euphoric anthem ‘Giving Up Air’ and its remix from iconic DJ/producer Solomun, bold indie-rock track ‘Lucky Dimes’, and a fresh take on ‘Sweet Disposition’ from German dance powerhouse BUNT.

‘Into The Wild’ encapsulates the duality of body and mind, and the existential yearning to transcend physical limits. Produced by Styalz Fuego (Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Khalid) with Catherine Marks (Wolf Alice, boygenius, Manchester Orchestra) on mixing, it’s freeing, pulsing, soaring – Dougy’s hypnotic falsetto floating over the top of undulating drums that draw the listener in and never let go.

Alongside the release is a surreal music video directed by emerging Melbourne creatives Joey Clough and Edvard Hakansson. A dreamlike car ride on wide open roads, cut with chaos and strangeness; the mind proves wilder and more uncontrollable than the world outside.

The release lands off the back of a strong return to the global stage. Over the past year, the band have played sold-out headline shows in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, London and Australia, alongside key festival slots at Beyond The Valley and Party In The Paddock. In late January, they made a standout return to international television, performing ‘Giving Up Air’ on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, marking a significant moment in this new chapter.

Released in 2025, ‘Giving Up Air’ and ‘Lucky Dimes’ have been clocking millions of streams whilst receiving global support, including landing in the top 40 US alternative radio charts, adds at triple j, Double j and commercial radio in Australia, Radio X and 6 Music support in the UK, and key stations throughout Europe.

If the past few months are anything to go by, this is still only the beginning of a much bigger return for The Temper Trap after a decade-long wait.

Few Australian bands of the past two decades have achieved the longevity of The Temper Trap. Across three studio albums, including two ARIA #1 debuts, the band have amassed well over two billion streams worldwide. Their seminal 2009 debut Conditions introduced ‘Sweet Disposition’, a song that not only topped charts internationally and achieved multi-platinum certification across Australia, New Zealand, the US and UK, but has become part of Australian music culture – placing #11 in triple j’s Hottest 100 Australian Songs of All Time. One of the most sought-after acts in the world, the band have hit some of the biggest festival stages globally, including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, Primavera, Big Day Out and Laneway Festival.

Recent times have seen a resurgence of love for the band including a ‘Love Lost’ collab on Mac Miller’s posthumously re-released Faces mixtape and a slew of remixes for ‘Sweet Disposition’ (from the likes of John Summit, Vintage Culture, VXSION, Lost Frequencies and BUNT.). These new iterations of the band’s original hits have solidified their popularity with an entirely new generation of fans, re-introducing them to dancefloors and charts worldwide.
