  • Festival Review: Uprising 2026

For those who have never made the pilgrimage, it is tempting to describe Uprising simply as a metal festival. But that reductive label does a disservice to something that has, year after year, evolved into something far more nuanced, community-focused, and gloriously independent than the word “festival” tends to conjure. This is not a corporation … Continue reading Festival Review: Uprising 2026

  • Gov’t Mule teams with Ziggy Marley for 16 date tour

Gov’t Mule and Ziggy Marley have announced the Dreaming The Same Dream Tour, a 16-date co-headlining run that will take place this fall across the United States.

The tour is named after “Dreaming the Same Dream,” a song co-written by Gov’t Mule frontman Warren Haynes and Ziggy Marley that appeared on the Warren Haynes Band album Live at the Moody Theater. The tour will begin September 23 in New York City and conclude October 17 in Irving, Texas. Singer-songwriter YOLA will also appear on the tour with a guest DJ set.

“I’m really looking forward to the tour with Ziggy Marley,” shares Haynes. “We’ve known each other a long time and have shared the stage a few times but never done a tour together. There’s definitely an overlap between the two audiences, but I think a lot of Mule fans will be hearing Ziggy for the first time and a lot of Ziggy fans will be hearing Mule for the first time, which is great.”

“It’s gonna be a great jam session being on tour with Warren and the crew,” says Ziggy. “I’m looking forward to the vibes.”

“I was honored when Gov’t Mule and Ziggy Marley asked me to come on tour as their DJ/MC with the mostest,” adds YOLA. “A lot of people don’t know this but the only reason I’m in America today and was able to get signed here was because of dance music. My hometown of Bristol in the UK has a legacy of DJs specifically coming from our city. I cut my teeth there in the jazz, rock then dance scenes and met DJs and dance acts that I’d eventually tour and collaborate with. Getting to represent this part of my life in DJ form on tour with Mule and Ziggy is a full circle moment that I don’t think I’d have gotten if I didn’t tell my story and insist on being a fluid of genre and artistically whole woman.”

A portion of ticket proceeds from the tour will benefit Food For The Poor Jamaica. Organizers announced that $2 from every ticket sold will support relief and rebuilding efforts following Hurricane Melissa.

Prior to the fall run, Gov’t Mule will be on the road this summer, including a series of co-headlining dates with Joe Bonamassa. The band released its latest studio album, Peace…Like A River, in 2023.

Haynes has remained active with solo projects as well, releasing Million Voices Whisper in 2024 and The Whisper Sessions in 2025. Earlier this year, he also released an expanded, remixed and remastered edition of Tales of Ordinary Madness. A live symphonic project titled Dreams & Songs, recorded in Asheville in 2019, is expected to be announced soon.

Marley recently released Brightside, his first studio album in eight years. The album features “Racism Is A Killa” with Big Boi and “Many Mourn For Bob,” a tribute to his father Bob Marley.
