  • Found the Way is Magdi Aboul-Kheir’s Single Out Now

    Good Day Noir Family,
Magdi Aboul-Kheir presents “Found the Way” as a purely instrumental piece that speaks with clarity and restraint.

Found the Way is Magdi Aboul-Kheir’s Single Out Now

The track opens a door into a reflective space shaped by fast piano arpeggios that seem to arrive from a different dimension, one built on memory and inner motion rather than spectacle.

The piano takes control, moving with urgency while remaining precise and emotionally centered.

The arpeggios run freely, and the notes fall like light rain—soft, persistent, and charged with feeling. However, the speed never turns frantic. It creates momentum, pulling the listener forward while allowing room for thought. Soon after, a gentle and nostalgic melody enters and overlaps the arpeggio pattern. This interaction feels deliberate and human, as if two streams of thought meet and continue together. The music starts to tell a story without relying on words.

The track carries a strong sense of recollection. It recalls the experience of opening a drawer filled with old Polaroids, their colors faded but their meaning intact. Each musical phrase seems tied to a moment that helped shape who we are today. While the piano leads, the emotional weight never feels heavy-handed. It stays balanced, letting personal interpretation do the work.

At the same time, “Found the Way” avoids excess. There are no unnecessary flourishes, and every movement serves the narrative. The absence of vocals strengthens the connection, since the listener focuses entirely on the emotional arc created by melody and rhythm. The composition maintains a steady flow, which keeps the attention engaged without demanding it forcefully.

This piece reaches deep because it feels sincere and unguarded. It inspires reflection, invites calm, and encourages dreaming. Rather than pushing for drama, Magdi Aboul-Kheir trusts the piano to speak honestly.

  • EP Review: Virtue in Vain-Nothing is All I Am

    CoverArtwork Courtesy of San Pr

    Words Written by Anselm Anderson

Today marks the final chapter of an emphatic trilogy by British Metalcore Heavyweights, Virtue in Vain. Nothing is All I Amis the third instalment exploring human emotions and psyche.  The trio began their journey in 2015 with their debut EP, For All You Know is the Mask I Wore, focusing on the loss of identity, before 2019’s  Dusk//Dawn looking at the consequences of a terrible night out, whilst ‘Nothing is All I Am ‘ focuses on rebuilding a fractured mind.

The trio of lead vocalist Hywel Thomas, guitarist Mason Williams, and drummer Daniel Bryant hail from South Wales deliver another dose of metalcore that hits like a sledgehammer to the head. The band replicates what many other British bands of the genre do, but they bring a story behind their music. Their emotional cries blend with powerful riffs and down-tuned instrumentals that resonate long after the music has stopped. Their lyrics address deep-rooted psychological issues, conveyed through their sound. Each track reflects their feelings at the time, with atmospheric electronics added to emphasise the emotions of desolation and anger.

The intense screams in ‘Split’ kick off the track, backed by hard-hitting drums that convey the vocalist’s anger. ‘Blood Eyes’ continues the theme of anxieties and isolation with razor-sharp riffs and guttural screams that cut to the bone.’Between Reflections and Silence’ enhances the EP with layered harmonic vocals and electronics that evoke a sense of dread and suffering. The album shifts tempo with the intense ‘Echoes’, which features groove-oriented riffs and a catchy chorus that elevates the intensity and aggression of the release.

This four tracker wraps up with ‘The Wilt and I’ shares similarities with the previous track, albeit the inclusion of haunting melodic instrumental, which supplements the sorrowful nature of the track.

I am not familiar with the band’s previous two releases in this trilogy, but I always appreciate concepts in music. “Virtue in Vain” presents an intriguing theme centred around mental health, and much of the songwriting here addresses those issues. I enjoyed the music and felt the sense of loss and struggle that the band has experienced regarding this subject.

For a Metalcore release, the songs on here are what to expect from bands of the genre: intense, emotional, and all-out brutal.

  • Guitar Powerhouse JARED JAMES NICHOLS Announces New Album “Louder Than Fate”, Shares Music Video For New Single “Pretend”

Jared James Nichols‘ fourth studio album, Louder Than Fate will arrive this June 5, 2026, via Frontiers Music SLR. This new album is easily the guitarist, singer, and songwriter’s most powerful and fully realized statement to date.

Raw, unapologetic, and deeply rooted in the lineage of blues-driven hard rock, the album captures an artist at the peak of his creative confidence, channeling grit, groove, and soul with relentless intensity.

Nichols had this to say about Louder Than Fate: “I’m beyond excited for this record. I’ve been counting down the days until its release like it’s a personal holiday. If the singles are any hint for you, there are plenty of riffs ripping through the speakers like a buzz saw. But going deeper into the record, there are tons of different emotions and sounds that I have yet to explore as a singer/songwriter. I am personally thrilled to share different shades of myself on this record, giving so much more depth and insight to the listener. Get ready for Louder than Fate. “

To celebrate the album’s announcement, JJN is sharing the latest single, “Pretend,” alongside a new music video, available to view below. About the track, he comments: ‘Pretend’ hits like a live wire – gritty, pumping drums and guitar chugs that scream on the edge of chaos. Sometimes a relationship is all smoke, no fire; it’s just a borrowed desire.”

    Pre-order the album here.

Produced and mixed by Jay Ruston (AnthraxStone SourAmon AmarthSkindred, and Steel Panther) with additional production by Roger Alan Nichols (Larkin PoeTyler Bryant & The Shakedown and Hayley Williams of Paramore), Louder Than Fate balances muscle and melody, combining thunderous riffs, searing solos, and emotionally charged vocals with a modern, punchy production. The songs move effortlessly between hard-hitting rock anthems and more reflective, dynamic moments, showcasing Nichols’ ability to fuse classic influences with a contemporary edge. Tracks like “Bending or Breaking” and “Killing Time” expand the sonic palette with subtle keyboards and cinematic string arrangements, adding depth without ever sacrificing power.

Since his breakout debut, Jared James Nichols has built a reputation as one of the most electrifying guitarists and performers of his generation. Known for his unmistakable tone, fearless playing style, and commanding stage presence, he has toured extensively across the US and Europe, sharing stages with some of the biggest names in rock and earning praise from fans and critics alike.

Louder Than Fate is not just an album — it’s a declaration. A record that speaks to resilience, conviction, and the unstoppable force of an artist who plays every note as if it truly matters. Loud, honest, and deeply human, this is Jared James Nichols at his absolute best.

  • BREAKING BENJAMIN Guitarist KEITH WALLEN Kicks Off 2026 With New Solo Single “A Thin Line”

Breaking Benjamin‘s guitarist Keith Wallen has kicked off 2026 with the new single “A Thin Line.” The song’s gentle acoustic guitar strumming is accompanied by Wallen’s emotive, room-filling vocals. It will remind you of the alt power ballads of the late ’90s, wherein its heft lies in its simplicity .

“The duality of outcomes from the choices we make could mean the difference between our personal heaven or hell, war or peace, or even life or death,” Wallen shares about the song’s meaning.

Wallen has been dropping singles for the past 12 months, starting with “Us Against the World” and “Dead Inside.” Wallen delivered his gorgeous take on Avril Lavigne‘s contemplative classic “I’m With You” and also teamed up with Gore singer Haley Roughton for “Teeth Marks”.

Keith Wallen is a prolific songwriter responsible for soaring melodies and hypnotic hooks heard across modern rock radio. The West Virginia-born troubadour uses his solo work as a vehicle to explore his multifaceted passions, moving seamlessly from the smart pop of ’80s favorites like The Police and Depeche Mode to the big moody riffs of ’90s grunge heroes like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Stone Temple Pilots.

His co-writing collaborations include compositions with Saint Asonia, Fuel, We Came As Romans, Red, Dorothy, and Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch’s Love And Death. Wallen bares his soul as a solo artist with earnest resolve, powering his honest anthems with commanding vocals.

Keith’s self-produced acoustic and piano-driven Allies EP arrived in 2014. His debut solo album, 2021’s This World Or The Next, featured “Dream Away,” a song streamed 1.4M times on Spotify alone. His second solo album, Infinity Now, includes production and co-writing contributions from Kevin Thrasher (Rivals, Jelly Roll) and work with Dan Braunstein (Spiritbox, Dayseeker) and Andrew Baylis (Sleeping With Sirens, Jelly Roll, Brantley Gilbert).

Produced by Kevin Thrasher and mixed by Joel Wanasek (Rain City Drive, Scott Stapp), Keith’s sophomore solo album, Infinity Now, extends a warm invitation into the singer/songwriter’s heart and mind. Hard rock bombast meets intimate pensiveness via engaging songs like “Blackout,” “Strings,” and first single, “Headspace Holiday.”

As guitarist for Breaking Benjamin, a solo artist or songwriting collaborator, the common threads through Keith Wallen‘s work are honesty, authenticity, and heartfelt spirit.

The new track follows the recent announcement of Rob Zombie’s Summer 2026 co-headline tour with label mate Marilyn Manson happening during August and September with support from The Hu and Orgy. Tickets and VIP packages are onsale now here.

Following the success of his Top 10 charting record The Lunar Injection Kool Aid Eclipse Conspiracy (2021), Zombie is back with his 8th album, The Great Satan, revisiting his early Hellbilly roots for a slaughterhouse of anthemic punk infused heavy rock/metal.

THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE will unleash their pulverizing eighth full-length, The Dead Ones, on April 17th. Intense and intensely personal, The Dead Ones marks the band’s Metal Blade Records debut. Produced by Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland of Pennsylvania’s Atrium Audio, with their latest offering the band focused on the guitar, bass, and drum tones as well as the mix/master to achieve what guitarist Wyatt McLaughlin calls, “a super-thick sonic output and ‘rolling-tank’-like feel.”

The Dead Ones was recorded with a six-string baritone Viper from ESP-LTD tuned to Drop F, the same tuning used on the band’s 2012 Warpath EP. To elevate the intensity, the band also used an Earthquaker Devices Sunn O))) and Keeley Octa Psi drop tune pedal on certain sections. The record also includes four stellar guests: “Make It To Heaven” includes David Simonich of Signs Of The Swarm, Nate Johnson (ex-Fit For An Autopsy) appears on “Rat Trap,” “Dollar To A Dime” has Alan Grnja of Distant, and “XXXXXXXXXX” features original THE LAST TEN SECONDS OF LIFE vocalist Storm Strope.
