Loose Buttons tap into indie culture’s most persistent inside joke with Come To Brazil, turning it into something unexpectedly sincere and anthemic. Built on jangly guitars and a steadily rising momentum, the track walks the line between self-awareness and genuine longing. Its repeated hook feels playful at first, but gradually reveals a deeper reflection on connection, validation, and the pursuit of meaning. As the song builds toward its explosive finale, irony gives way to belief, delivering a cathartic payoff.
It’s catchy, clever, and emotionally resonant—indie rock with both heart and a knowing wink.
“Gore Nest” is the new single from New Jersey deathcore outfit NIGHTS OF MALICE. The band’s latest bruiser comes by way of their punishing Chaos Exordium full-length, set to drop on June 4th through Bleeding Art Collective and Blood Blast Distribution (Nuclear Blast Records/Believe).
Comments vocalist Brendan McGrath, “‘Gore Nest’ is super bouncy and fun. It still maintains the sonically heavy tone of the album, but it brings a different kind of energy than the rest of the songs. That’s why the video was a party! It’s also the first time [guitarist] Josh [Kuhn] has written with us. Even before he became an official member, we wanted him to have a solo on the record since we’d been jamming with him for a long time already. This is also the second song I’ve written about DOOM lore. The last one, ‘Void Bearer’ (2021) was about the Icon Of Sin. ‘Gore Nest’ is about Hell’s invasion of Earth from an overall perspective.”

With a sound that is synonymous with razor sharp technical death metal riffing, monolithic groove, and rapid-fire vocal phrasing, as is signature with acts such as Psycroptic, Whitechapel, Aborted, and Archspire, NIGHTS OF MALICE is a triumphant example of the quality of acts that have emerged from the Garden State scene.

Since the band’s inception, the band has worked with the outstanding team of Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland at Atrium Audio, who have produced albums from bands such as Black Crown Initiate, August Burns Red, Rivers Of Nihil, The Ghost Inside, and many more. NIGHTS OF MALICE has once again teamed up with Atrium Audio for Chaos Exordium.
“The whole album started to really come together once we wrote [lead single] ‘Ex-Mortis,” reflects McGrath on the creation of Chaos Exordium. “We felt like that was the song that fully encompassed the current era of our sound and from there, it was easier to pick and choose which of our ideas were going to be on the album, to sort of map out the pacing of it.”
“Our goal was to make the heaviest, most intense NIGHTS OF MALICE album ever. We’ve experimented with our sound in a lot of different ways, but one thing we all agree on is that we are at our best when we’re riffing all over the place. Our writing process always starts with guitar, so it comes naturally to us most of the time.”
“For the production,” he continues, “we knew we were going to go back to Atrium. We love working with Grant and Carson; we’ve been working with them for ten years now. They have always been an integral part of bringing our vision to life and they’ve given us our best sounding mix yet. It’s a very guitar-heavy mix since the riffs are the driving force behind this record.”
Chaos Exordium features album artwork created by Andriy Tkalenko and guest vocals by Bobby Yagodich of Verminoth on “Stitched” and Chaney Crabb of Entheos on “Riches To The Conjuror.”

XENNON and Wilde We$t’s Story of F is a sleek, nostalgia-driven retrowave cut that channels the drama and grandeur of classic pro wrestling into sound. Built on pulsing synths, cinematic pads, and a steady electronic groove, the track unfolds like an entrance theme for a larger-than-life moment. There’s a strong sense of atmosphere, balancing retro aesthetics with modern production clarity. Without relying on vocals, it tells its story through tension, progression, and mood. Story of F is both homage and reinvention—an instrumental ride that feels bold, stylized, and unapologetically larger than life.
Dmc Reigns’ Wahala is a vibrant, genre-blending cut that fuses highlife roots with a sleek electronic edge. Built on rhythmic bounce and warm, melodic textures, the track carries an infectious groove while exploring the push-and-pull of chaotic love. There’s a natural fluidity in how traditional influences meet modern production, creating a sound that feels both culturally grounded and forward-looking. Vocals glide effortlessly over the beat, balancing charm with emotional tension.
Wahala thrives in that duality—bright yet complicated—delivering a track that’s as danceable as it is emotionally layered.
Nagra’s Touch, Fever, Inferno is an electrifying burst of psychedelic indie rock that fuses jagged funk rhythms with restless, high-energy execution. Driven by sharp, angular guitars and hypnotic, hard-hitting drums, the track feels constantly in motion—unpredictable yet tightly controlled. There’s a clear nod to groove-driven experimentation, echoing the spirit of Talking Heads while injecting a modern, South London edge. Vocals ride the rhythm with urgency, adding to the track’s feverish momentum.
It’s chaotic, danceable, and fiercely alive—a bold, genre-blurring ride that refuses to sit still.
Tradition’s Blush is a sharp, driving alt-rock cut that pairs infectious hooks with a pointed sense of urgency. Beneath its catchy exterior lies a clear undercurrent of frustration, as the band channels discontent into tightly wound guitars and propulsive rhythms. The track moves with purpose—never overcomplicating its message, yet never losing intensity. Vocals cut through with conviction, reinforcing the tension between melody and meaning. Blush thrives on that contrast, delivering a song that’s both immediately engaging and quietly confrontational. A punchy, politically aware release that sticks.

MARTYRED ANNOUNCE NEW EP “EMPIRICAL TORMENT” AND FIRST SINGLE “WHERE THE BODIES LIE”
Austin, Texas – Independent death metal force Martyred return with full impact, unleashing their new single “Where the Bodies Lie,” out now across all major streaming platforms. The track serves as the first brutal preview of their upcoming EP “Empirical Torment,” set for release on May 8th, 2026.
Formed in 2003 by guitarist Mike DeBord, Martyred carved their place in the underground with razor-sharp riffing, blackened thrash undertones, chaotic time signatures, and pit-ready groove violence. After a hiatus in 2010, the band reformed in 2017 and has been steadily rebuilding momentum ever since. The current lineup features Oscar Martinez (vocals), Mike DeBord (guitars), Ankur Patel (guitars), Stephen Fernandez (bass), and Rene Martinez (drums), with DeBord remaining the creative engine from day one.
Lyrically, Martyred confronts harsh reality head-on, tackling war, psychological trauma, and the darker corners of human experience with unfiltered intensity. No metaphors for comfort. No soft landings. Just truth delivered at volume.
Sonically, the band operates in the same extreme sphere as Cannibal Corpse, Morbid Angel, Suffocation, and Immolation, while still carving out a distinct identity through complex structure and crushing forward momentum.
The upcoming EP “Empirical Torment” pushes Martyred deeper into their most dynamic and punishing material to date. The release also features a special guest appearance from Ricky Myers, whose vocal contribution adds another layer of veteran brutality to the record.
“This follow-up independent EP, Empirical Torment , takes Martyred’s sound on a blistering sonic journey full of twists, turns, and grooves,” says guitarist Mike DeBord. “Longtime friend and supporter of the band, Ricky Myers stepped up and delivered on vocals. He absolutely brought a level of intensity that elevated the whole record.”
Empirical Torment was mixed and mastered by Juan Urteaga at Trident Studios, ensuring a dense, aggressive sound that captures every blast beat, fractured riff, and ounce of controlled chaos the band is known for.
