  • Defeated Sanity Post Drum Playthrough of “Heredity Violated”

    featdsanity_drumplaythrotugh

Watching good drummers play at a ridiculously fast pace will always be mesmerizing to me. The way they’re so coordinated with their hands and feet in such a way that they’re able to blast through the most insane shit will never not be impressive. Thanks to a recently posted drum playthrough featuring Defeated Sanity‘s drummer Lille Gruber, I can now add him to the list of drummers that pull off crazy shit.

Posted by the band itself, the video features Gruber playing through the track “Heredity Violated” off their most recent album Chronicles of Lunacy.

“This song was based on a Latin-type rhythm and fused with a brutal riff. It also has a cool dotted note verses even cymbal thing going on.”

The clip comes weeks before the band’s headlining tour with Inferi, Organectomy and Excrescence, Scasm, and Horrific Vision.

That tour will kick off on April 16 in Anaheim, California and come to an end on May 16 in Las Vegas. Excrescence, Scasm, and Horrific Visions will only be on the bill during select shows, so you’ll have to check out the list of dates to see who will be playing when on the 27-date run of gigs.

You can find the list of shows, and who’ll be playing said shows, down below.

  • Download Festival Reveal 2026 District X Line-Up

Download Festival have revealed what will be going on in the ever-expanding District X at this year’s festival, and there are a few very special surprises in there.

One of the biggest surprises is an appearance from UK pop royalty FIVE. Picking up where Vengaboys left off last year, and of course where Scooter pick up this year, the sing-alongs are going to be louder than you think.

Band-wise, there will be appearances from Electric Six, Bat Sabbath (Cancer Bats’ Black Sabbath tribute), The All-American Rejects and Dune Rats.

There will also be DJ sets from Creeper, Holding Absence and Funeral For A Friend’s Lucas Woodland, Modestep and Cancer Bats’ Liam Cornier. Oh, and Dick and Dom. Of course.

There’s also what looks like a Sleep Token bluegrass tribute act, too. What a festival.

District X at Download will be taking place between 10-14 June. The festival’s music starts on June 12, with Limp Bizkit, Guns N’ Roses and Linkin Park headlining. They will be joined by Halestorm, Architects, A Day To Remember, Bad Omens, Ice Nine Kills, The Pretty Reckless, Electric Callboy, Pendulum, Trivium, Black Veil Brides, BABYMETAL and many, many MANY more incredible bands.

It’s going to be a big one at the world-famous Donington Park. Tickets are available right now from right here

The line-up for Download’s District X is here and it is absolutely bananas.

Following in the dancing footsteps of Vengaboys last year, Download are keeping things moving with 90s boyband royalty Five taking to Donington Park for the very first time.

But they’re not alone, this year’s District X megaparty will also feature rock club faves Electric Six, a Dick & Dom DJ set, an acoustic set from The All-American Rejects and the mighty Bat Sabbath. Plus a bunch more DJ sets from Creeper, MODESTEP, Lucas from Holding Absence, and Cancer Bats’ Liam Cormier.

Across the weekend, you’ll also find live podcasts from ADHD Love, Sappenin’ and The Metal Roundup, as well as some of most unique takes on some of your favourite bands including TokenGrass (a bluegrass tribute to Sleep Token) and Nic Cage Against The Machine (a Rage tribute band fronted by a Nic age impersonator). Yes, both of these things actually exist.

  • Spaceport – “Sugar Moon”

Last month we learned of Cut The Lake, the new album from the Minnesota indie-pop band Spaceport, and heard its grandly sweeping lead single “Switch.” They’ve since graced us with two more tracks. “Lungs” leans into the country side of Spaceport’s sound, with weeping pedal steel and regal trumpet accompanying Arianna Wegley’s whispery vocals. Meanwhile,…

  • AN NCS VIDEO PREMIERE: WRANG — “VOOR ONS DE ZEE”

(written by Islander) The cover painting chosen by the Dutch band Wrang for their new album Verwording isn’t conventional imagery for a black metal band — and Wrang is unmistakably a black metal band. But it’s a choice that connects to both the album’s music and its lyrical themes. Here’s some information provided on behalf […]
