Australian Extreme Metal outfit King Parrot have announced a no-holds-barred UK headline tour for September 2026 following their huge arena run supporting Pantera and Power Trip across Europe in 2025.
The band recently wrapped a 39-date US tour alongside Gwar and Soulfly and will head into the UK dates firing on all cylinders. Veteran bassist Derek Engemann (Scour, Philip H Anselmo and The Illegals, ex-Cattle Decapitation) will once again perform with the band.
“We’re really excited to be returning to the UK after our massive run with Pantera and Power Trip last year,” vocalist Matt Young said. “We can’t wait to bring our full headlining set out, and we’ll be delivering cuts from every album, including a whole swag from the new record. Looking forward to seeing our UK mates this September.”
The UK tour will hit Bridgwater, Swansea, Derby, Birmingham, Liverpool, Southampton, London, Norwich and Glasgow throughout September 2026. Tickets are available from kingparrot.net.
King Parrot will also appear at several European festivals including Summer Dying Loud, Metal!!! 2026 and Get Lost Fest.

Olivia Rodrigo has given us another taste of her upcoming album ‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’, and this one is a melancholic pop-rock cut overflowing with anguish.
Recently, Olivia has made no secret of her love for Robert Smith and co. – even namedropping the band’s iconic track ‘Just Like Heaven’ in ‘drop dead’ – and this new single is another reminder that her dizzying pop anthems undoubtedly have a place in the rock world.
Built on a melancholic guitar line and boasting a powerful, angst-fuelled chorus, ‘the cure’ is the kind of track you’ll instantly want to put on full blast and belt out of your car windows as you drive.
Check it out alongside a video that sees the singer trying to find a cure for a broken heart.
‘you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love’ will be released on June 12.

Chicago blues artist Denise La Grassa is set to release her new album A Crossroads Communion on June 5, and Blues Rock Review is exclusively premiering the video for the album’s opening track, “Big Bad Dream.”
Driven by gritty guitar work, moody atmosphere, and a message rooted in the current state of the world, “Big Bad Dream” blends traditional blues influences with a modern edge. The track also sets the tone for the themes explored throughout A Crossroads Communion, an album that reflects on division, darkness, faith, and humanity’s struggle to find connection in turbulent times.
“I wrote this song after waking from a literally ‘Big Bad Dream.’ I feel I have an obligation to shine a beacon of light on the state of our world, and music is my megaphone,” says La Grassa.
The video captures both the tension and surrealism of the song, drawing inspiration from La Grassa’s experiences growing up in Chicago while also leaning into the dreamlike imagery behind the track.
“The video was partially inspired by my experiences on streets and alleyways of my hometown Chicago. I also wanted it to reflect the surrealness of my dream, and the fractured world we currently inhabit,” she says.
La Grassa also took a hands-on role behind the scenes of the video’s production.
“I produced the video, which was edited by Freddy Meyer.”
On A Crossroads Communion, La Grassa channels the spirit of classic blues artists while carving out her own identity. Influenced by names like Howlin’ Wolf, R. L. Burnside, Albert King, and Memphis Minnie, the album balances reverence for tradition with a modern approach.
“Classic blues has always resonated with me, it’s where my musical journey began when I moved to Chicago at age 20,” she adds. “And you’ll still hear classic blues at our shows. But I have my own voice and journey, and the songs coming out of me lately have been true to the blues that howls within me. I’m fortunate to work with talented musicians who feel the same as I do.”
Across the album’s nine tracks, La Grassa explores themes of social unrest, personal struggle, spirituality, and hope. Rather than dwelling entirely in darkness, the songs aim to encourage listeners to seek compassion, community, and light in uncertain times.
