Alternative pop rock supergroup Carrie Okay released their debut single and accompanying lyric video titled “High in a Drugstore” on August 28. Formed by established singer songwriters LØLØ, salem ilese, and Alna, the new trio brings together their collective talent for a vulnerable and cathartic new track. The release was produced by Andrew Goldstein and channels the raw edge of the 1990s through a distinctly modern lens, pairing acoustic guitars with the tender and emotionally charged vocal harmonies of all three members.

Thematically, “High in a Drugstore” explores the disorienting aftermath of heartbreak and the strange places people end up when trying to escape an existential crisis. The song was originally written by the three artists to pitch to someone else, but they quickly realized the track was far too special to give away. Choosing instead to form their own girl band, Carrie Okay utilized this initial spark to create a fresh musical project built on their undeniable creative chemistry. The group is currently back in the studio working on more original music as they continue to develop this exciting new collaborative chapter.

Victoriana infused electronic metal duo Codex Lovelace has officially released their debut full length album Galvanized Heart alongside a new music video for the single “The Corps”. The new record arrived on September 4 and seamlessly fuses dark electronic dance music with heavy metal instrumentation. The new focus track lifts the curtain on the darker side of nineteenth century entertainment by exploring the grim reality of ballet dancers expected to prostitute themselves to wealthy patrons. Musically, “The Corps” delivers rhythmic intensity by blending eerie atmospheric shifts and seductive vocal lines with thunderous metal elements to reveal the sinister history lurking beneath the surface.

Devised from a shared love of history and fantasy, Codex Lovelace is a collaborative project led by musicians Joan Avant and Holly Royle of Disconnected Souls. The name of the group serves as a direct reference to Ada Lovelace, reflecting their overarching thematic focus on the forgotten women of history. Originally intended to be a single collaboration between the two artists, the project quickly expanded into the expansive Galvanized Heart record produced entirely by Avant. By intertwining ethereal orchestral arrangements and ambient electronic textures with the aggressive power of modern metal, the duo has crafted a highly dynamic debut designed to highlight the stories of lives far too often overlooked.

German symphonic metal band Morlas Memoria has released a new official music video for their track “Reckless Game.” The song serves as a standout piece from the group’s latest full length studio album Adieu which was independently released to rave reviews in 2025. Produced entirely in house by the band in collaboration with Constantin Nürnberger from Mara Sound Studio, the new visual project highlights their strong dedication to a completely do it yourself creative approach.

Thematically, “Reckless Game” encapsulates the overarching conceptual narrative of the Adieu record by exploring the grand ambitions of humanity and the ultimate failure of those fateful dreams. While the song draws specific inspiration from famous failed historical expeditions, the lyrics also operate as a direct reflection of their own existence as an independent band. Facing challenges that often feel far too grand, Morlas Memoria utilizes the track to honestly acknowledge that constant failure and setbacks are simply a natural part of the musical journey.

Los Angeles based pop punk artist Luna Shadows has released a brand new single and accompanying music video titled “gutspill.” Co- written and co produced alongside Chris Freeman of Hot Mulligan, the track marks a stylistic shift by blending early two thousands pop punk energy with her signature dreamy electronic production. Thematically, “gutspill” explores the overwhelming experience of holding in intense emotions until they finally burst out, operating as a playful ode to expressing true feelings even when they feel terrifying. To visually capture this lighter era, Shadows self directed and produced a nostalgic band performance video featuring Freeman on guitar.

Operating out of California, Luna Shadows has spent the past decade independently carving out her own space within the alternative music landscape. As a classically trained pianist who writes and produces entirely from her bedroom studio, she meticulously controls every aspect of her sonic and visual presentation. With over sixty million streams accumulated across her catalog, she continues to expand her creative reach by composing for video games and producing for other artists.
