STREAM THE METAL BREAKDOWN DAILY BELOW:

The technical death metal landscape has just been hit with a massive, high-velocity touring milestone. Boston’s premier progressive death metal powerhouse, Revocation, has officially broken their silence to unveil a sprawling fall headlining run dubbed the 20 Years Of Torment Tour. The month-long trek will cut a devastating path across major markets in both the United States and Canada, bringing along an elite, unrelenting support roster engineered to be an absolute dream bill for heavy music purists.

The career-spanning tour news drops directly on the heels of the band’s latest creative wave, acting as a massive dual celebration of two decades of continuous sonic annihilation and their newest studio output.

The Lineup: Defeated Sanity, Fuming Mouth & Weeping Death

The newly announced headlining run kicks off on September 10 in Worcester, Massachusetts. From there, the four-band packaging will tear across the continent before locking down a grand finale on October 10 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Revocation will be flanked by a monumental tier of heavy opening support:

    • Defeated Sanity: German technical death metal veterans serving as direct special guests.
    • Fuming Mouth: The highly acclaimed hardcore-meets-death-metal heavyweights making their highly anticipated return.
    • Weeping Death: Fast-rising raw death metal intensity setting the stage across the full tour length.

An exclusive ticket presale is scheduled to launch tomorrow, Wednesday, June 3 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Fans looking to score early access to the pit can secure tickets using the official presale code NGNM26. The general public on-sale will follow this coming Friday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Reaching Deep Into the Revo Repository

For two decades, Revocation has steadily held the mantle as one of the most mechanically precise and instrumentally frantic entities in extreme metal. The band’s upcoming setlist promises to be a legendary celebration of their history, featuring structural deep cuts that haven’t seen the light of day in years alongside modern, blinding technicality.

In an official press statement accompanying the tour rollout, the band made it clear that this setlist will be completely unique, striking a balance between their classic catalog and live debuts from their latest full-length album, New Gods, New Masters: “20 YEARS OF TORMENT… And we’re bringing some truly sick bands with us to celebrate. We’ll be playing material that spans every record on this one, reaching back into the Revo Repository plus new material from our latest album live for the first time. See you in the pit!”

  • EMPEROR Announced as First Headliner For Fortress Festival 5th Anniversary

2027 UK exclusive performance from the Norwegian black metal band

Fortress tickets available now via https://www.fortressfestival.co.uk/

Scarborough, UK, June 2026: Norwegian black metal pioneers Emperor have been confirmed as the first headlining act for the fifth anniversary of Fortress Festival set to take place on 29-30 May 2027 at the Scarborough Spa in North Yorkshire.

This will be Emperor’s only and exclusive UK performance in 2027.

Gary Stephenson, Fortress Festival founder, said: “It’s our fifth anniversary of Fortress in 2027 and we’re pulling no punches this time. Emperor, one of the biggest names in black metal, will close the festival with a headlining performance to show why this band is still such a phenomenon 20 years after their last studio album. We’ve sold out every edition of Fortress so far, and we expect no less to happen in 2027. So secure those tickets, and we will drop another dozen or so worldwide live debuts, UK exclusives and eye-watering bookings very soon for you all.”

Formed in 1991, Emperor are one of the most important and influential black metal bands. They are known for blending traditional black metal with atmospheric and symphonic elements. Landmark releases such as “In the Nightside Eclipse” and “Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk” introduced complex song structures and orchestral keyboards to the genre. Following an initial dissolution in 2001, the group’s live appearances became incredibly scarce. Their later reunion has been strictly limited to select festival slots and rare special engagements, making this upcoming Fortress Festival performance a highly anticipated UK event.

The news follows the sold-out fourth edition of the festival this weekend, which boasted a stacked line-up of exclusive and rare performances, including Old Man’s Child, Gallowbraid, Dødheimsgard, Akercocke, Whoredom Rife, Abigail Williams, Vinterland and many more.

Given the festival’s established track record of completely selling out every previous iteration, demand for the 2027 weekend tickets is anticipated to be very high.

I discovered The Pretty Reckless around the time that they released their self-titled EP in 2010, and first saw them live at O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in December that year on their Light Me Up tour. I have seen them a bunch of times since, whenever they make it over to this side of the … Continue reading Gig Review: The Pretty Reckless – The Underworld, London (1st June 2026)
