Wednesday 13 opened up in a new interview about his recently announced team-up with John 5 and the guitarist’s solo outfit, The Creatures, for a run of shows across summer and fall 2027. The pairing marks the first time John‘s band will feature a dedicated vocalist, and to celebrate, the two plan to dig through John‘s back catalog — pulling songs from his time with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Mötley Crüe and David Lee Roth, along with cuts from his own solo work.

John 5 And The Creatures featuring Wednesday 13 have already locked in their first two dates for 2027: Wacken Open Air, running July 28-31, 2027 in Wacken, Germany, and the Brutal Assault open-air extreme metal festival, set for August 4-7, 2027 at the 18th-century Josefov Fortress in Jaroměř, Czech Republic. More shows are expected to follow.

Speaking with The David Ellefson Show (transcribed by Blabbermouth) about how the collaboration came together, Wednesday 13 said: “That’s a super-cool thing. It kind of came out of nowhere. We have the same [booking] agent, a guy named Dan DeVita, who’s an awesome guy. And he just hit me up one day. And I thought he was calling to talk to me about a tour, and he was, like, he said, ‘Hey, I got something for you.’ And I was, ‘Okay.’ He goes, ‘What do you think about this?’ He goes, ‘I’m booking John, and John wants to go out next year and he’s talking about playing some songs from the bands he’s been in, ’cause he doesn’t have a vocalist.

And I said, ‘You’re the dude for this.” And I went, ‘I am the dude for this. Thank you.’ ‘Cause I literally, I had this idea in my head before that. I was gonna hit up John and just be, like, ‘Dude, we should do a band together.’ I just had the urge to do something new. But he came back and was, like, ‘Yeah, let’s do this.’ So, we got together and we jammed a few Mötley songs and Manson and Zombie, and it just instantly clicked. And he was, like, ‘Dude,’ and I was like, ‘Dude.’ And we both thought, ‘All right. Well, cool. We gotta go on tour.’ So he went, he started Mötley Crüe.

So literally we just got together once. We jammed. We got these two shows already confirmed, Wacken and Brutal Assault, and there’s a whole month of dates that we’re doing over there. So, yeah, literally it’s still in the early stages. I don’t know what we’re doing exactly yet. I got a vague idea of it, but we got time to put it together. And it’s a cool opportunity for me. I mean, everyone knows John is — dude, he’s just an insane guitar player. And I compare it to [late Slipknot drummer and Murderdolls guitarist Joey] Jordison. Jordisonwas this drummer extraordinaire, and then John is the same way. And I just keep going, like, ‘Man, why are these guys finding me? Why do they wanna play with me? I’m just a little punk rock guy.’ So it makes me not feel like such a dipshit.”

Wednesday 13 continued: “I’m so excited. And we haven’t talked a whole lot about it. We just made the announcement that we’re doing the shows. But it’s just because we’re still putting it together. I mean, I’m waiting for [John] to be done with Mötley, but soon as he’s done with Mötley, I go on tour. I’m gonna go see John in a couple of weeks here when they play. But, yeah, we’re gonna piece it together, and I think it’s gonna be something fun for the fans. And I’m excited. Like I said, playing alongside a dude like that, that’s got such notoriety being a guitar player, it was a little nervous for me, but I went in and I nailed it… But I’ve known John for a while, and we toured together, with Wednesday 13 and him doing his solo thing, and he’s always complimented me on my voice, and we love Kiss, we love Alice Cooper, and all the bands he’s been in are my favorite bands, too.”

For more than 30 years, John 5 has ranked among the most sought-after guitar players working today, having shared stages and studios with Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, David Lee Roth, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Meat Loaf, Dolly Parton and plenty more, and currently holds down guitar duties in Mötley Crüe.

Since 2011, John has put out a dozen solo records showcasing his distinctive playing style, drawing praise from audiences worldwide. His most recent effort, Ghost, dropped to strong reviews in October 2025.

This year has kept John 5 busy on multiple fronts — touring with Mötley Crüe while also running his own solo dates. The solo run included twelve U.K. stops plus shows across Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech Republic, Sweden, Denmark and Norway in May and October 2026.

Wednesday 13, for his part, has built a reputation as one of horror rock’s most singular voices, earning the nickname “The Duke of Spook” over decades spent fusing horror imagery with punk and metal.

From Maniac Spider Trash and Frankenstein Drag Queens From Planet 13 through Murderdolls (alongside Joey Jordison of Slipknot) and into his solo work as Wednesday 13, he’s carved out a place as both an innovator and a theatrical force on stage.

Blues legend Buddy Guy will celebrate his 90th birthday with an all-star concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on October 1, 2026, and fans around the world will have the opportunity to watch the historic event live.

Buddy’s Got the Blues: A 90th Birthday Concert Celebration will bring together some of the biggest names in blues and rock, including Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., Billy F Gibbons, Samantha Fish, Eric Gales, Christone “Kingfish” Ingram, and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.

The concert will be available to stream through Nugs, with HD access priced at $39.99 and 4K access at $49.99. Both options include the live broadcast and 48 hours of on-demand viewing from the purchaser’s Nugs library.

The celebration will honor Guy’s extraordinary career and influence on generations of musicians. The guitarist, who turned 90 on July 30, has helped shape the sound of modern blues and rock, influencing countless artists throughout his decades-long career.

Art of Shock’s story began in Los Angeles, where Art Geezar, Adrian Geezar, and Brice Snyder cut their teeth on the Sunset Strip. The band became known as the Whisky a Go Go’s unofficial house band, turning the legendary Hollywood venue into a proving ground for their explosive live performances.
That same energy carried onto the Vans Warped Tour , where Art of Shock commanded stages by day and became notorious for hosting the tour’s afterparties every night.
The band went on to release two full-length albums through Century Media Records , earning placements on Billboard, VEVO, and college radio charts , while sharing stages with major names including Sepultura, Crowbar, Brujeria, Sacred Reich, Trivium, Hirax, and Cavalera Conspiracy .
