The Lords Of Altamont, Forever Loaded (Heavy Psych Sounds 2026)
The Lords Of Altamont take another lap with their ninth album, Forever Loaded.
Psychedelic garage rockers The Lords Of Altamont are from Los Angeles. They have been around for coming up on three decades, releasing their first record, To Hell With The Lords, in 2002. You can always rely on their music for a night out drinking because it goes good with both whiskey and beer. The band is Dani Sindaco (guitar, vocals), Jake Cavaliere (organ, vocals), Barry Van Esbroek (drums, vocals), and Rob Zimmermann (bass, vocals).
âGot A Hold On Meâ thumps the evening into life with a punchy riff and a fisting attitude. It is a great way to start things off. âWhatâs Your Bagâ adds some sweet keys and asks just the right musical questions. âDevil Ridesâ gives in to the urge with a crooked smile and a tasty guitar solo, âRusty Gunsâ has a creepy muddy echo in it, and âProcession For A Gorehoundâ got me to thinking about the Amboy Dukes. In fact, there is a real Detroit feel to the music from this L. A. band, at least on this album.
Side two keeps the foot the gas. âGet Out Of My Headâ rolls out a bass line and feisty percussion tease to draw you in. âGot You On The Runâ is a short fast knee-capper, âDisconnectionâ has us slowing down a touch to think about what we have done, and âI Got Your Numberâ is a one night stand between rockabilly and punk. The end comes with âTwisted Black,â a seven-minute incantation from an excommunicated magus. Even at this length, there are not really separate movements as we might expect, except for the chaotic crescendo and ultimate release at the end. This is a good album. Iâll put it on my shelf next to the Murder City Devils. Recommended.

Complete List Of Mike Patton Bands And Musical Projects
Mike Pattonâs career began in Eureka, California, where isolation, record collecting, film obsession, and restless curiosity helped shape one of the most unpredictable voices in modern music. Born Michael Allan Patton on January 27, 1968, Patton grew up in a secular household with a mother who was a social worker and a father who was a physical education teacher. As a student at Eureka High School, he met bassist Trevor Dunn and later guitarist Trey Spruance through music theory classes and jazz ensembles. Those friendships became the foundation of Mr. Bungle, the experimental band formed in 1984 that gave Patton
