Last month, Lowertown announced their new album Ugly Duckling Union and shared the kooky, addictive lead single “I Like You A Lot.” Now New York’s beloved indie duo is back with “Big Thumb.” “‘Big Thumb’ was written during Olive’s obsession with collecting newspaper clippings and found pieces of writing,” Avsha Weinberg says, expounding: She had always…
Last year, runo plum charmed us all with her debut album patching. Now the Minnesota singer-songwriter is back with the announcement of a new EP called Bloom Again. The melancholy acoustic ballad “Butterflies” is out today. “You might assume it’s about the giddy feelings of having nervous butterflies when you have a crush, and I…
In the 1950s, American mobster Raymond Patriarca used a cigarette vending machine company as a front for organized crime. That’s where the title of Deer Tick’s new album Coin-O-Matic comes from, and it’s being announced today. The Providence band shared the lead single “Mary Singletary” as the first preview. “Most of the stories on the…

KERRANG! Features DISTANT’s New Single “Spirit” Featuring Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds Of Life – Out Now
Release Date: March 4, 2026 Genre: Deathcore Label: Century Media Records
Rotterdam/Bratislava deathcore titans DISTANT return with their most personal and unrelenting single yet, Spirit , featuring Tyler Beam of The Last Ten Seconds Of Life . Out now via Century Media Records , the track channels raw human emotion, inspired by the real-life stabbing of a family member at a clinic named Spirit.
“Spirit is one of Distant’s most personal releases to date,” the band explains. “It channels grief, shock, and the surge of rage and revenge that follows trauma. It’s raw emotion turned into relentless sound—not to glorify violence, but to confront it.”
Formed in 2014 by bassist Elmer Maurits and guitarist Nouri Yetgin , DISTANT quickly made waves with their debut EP Tsukuyomi (2017) and first full-length Tyrannotophia (2019, Unique Leader Records). Their sound evolved with Aeons of Oblivion (2021) and, under a three-album deal with Century Media Records, Heritage (2023), showcasing a faster, more technical, and fully produced deathcore experience.
DISTANT’s music is storytelling at its heaviest. Their expansive fictional universe—including narratives like The Rise of Tyrannotophia —gives each track depth beyond the pit. Live, they are a powerhouse, selling out venues across Europe and the U.S., delivering energy and precision that cements their global deathcore reputation.

Later this spring, the London jazz saxophonist Alabaster DePlume will release Dear Children of Our Children, I Knew: Epilogue, the new EP that he recorded with bassist Shahzad Ismaily and drummer Tcheser Holmes. The record is framed as a call to action in defense of oppressed people, and it includes samples of kids playing and…
This weekend in the City of Brotherly Love, there will be nothing but good times and loud music, as Lamb Of God hosts a special pop-up show in the historic city. Because as you know, these guys have a history with Killadelphia…
Announced earlier this morning, Lamb Of God will play a special show at the Theatre of Living Arts (TLA) on Sunday, March 15 — just two days after the release of their forthcoming record Into Oblivion. Sharing the stage with them that night will be the insanely killer Fit For an Autopsy.
For those that don’t know, the TLA is a pretty intimate venue in Philadelphia, so it’s a great time to catch a band like Lamb Of God up-close and personal. And how much would a show like this set you back? $15. That’s it. Fees included.
Fans looking to attend the show will have to request tickets via Ticketmaster. Tickets that can be fulfilled will automatically be charged to your credit card if you sign up, just know that signing up doesn’t guarantee you tickets. Requests must be sent in by March 11, 10 p.m. Eastern.
If you can’t make it out this Sunday, don’t fret. They’ll be playing a fuck ton of shows pretty soon. You can find the full list of dates below.

(Here we have DGR’s review of the latest album from Exhumed, which is out now on Relapse Records.) When you start writing you assume you won’t ever be on the journalistic “beat” of some bands, yet somehow you seem to fall into a routine and over time wind up covering their releases far more than […]
The track is taken from the band’s soon-to-be-released NIGHTSAFTERVAMP deluxe album, which is due out this Friday, March 13 and features a total of six new songs (the others are HIGH featuring Arrows In Action, ASKFORIT, MINDGAMES, CHASINGSHADOWS and an acoustic rendition of SHALLOW).
Speaking about DANGEROUS, Magnolia Park explain that it “sits as the centrepiece for the deluxe and foreshadows a more sensual side we’re exploring that will make its way into the Vampire’s lore.
“With its sexy lyrics, heavy groovy riffs, forward-thinking production and R&B vocals, it really acts as a sneak peek into the new sound for what’s to come after NIGHTSAFTERVAMP.”
