Still riding the momentum of their excellent debut album Last Laugh, Melbourne’s power poppin’ punk rock and rollers extraordinaire Loose Lips are back with a hot new single off a new EP that will release next month. You always know what you’re going to get from Josh, Nadine, and Ethan, and “Beehive” is very much in that lane. It’s a fun, high-energy rocker with an unbeatable hook. It takes just a little over two minutes to get the job done, and then you’re ready for another go-around. While the full EP doesn’t come out until September 4th, you can pre-order it now and check out another track, “Remember We Love You.” With 2026 being one of the hottest years for new music in recent memory, I’m pumped to have Loose Lips be part of it! 

Olivia Rodrigo is really taking this indie rock shit seriously. It’s not enough to perform with basically every remaining ’90s alt-rock legend, including, just last weekend, the Smashing Pumpkins. It’s not enough to continually namecheck the Cure, to the point that she’s got a Robert Smith duet on her excellent new album you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love. It’s not enough to cover CMAT and book Grave Ives and Die Spitz as tour openers. These days, Rodrigo is taking things even further, launching a Bandcamp page and playing the same small-ish Brooklyn venue where I saw the Hold Steady I don’t know how many times. The next thing you know, she’ll be moving into a Philly loft with five roommates and a serious black mold problem.
