PJ Harvey’s New Song Is Sung From The Perspective Of NASA’s Voyager 2
With her new single, Polly Jean Harvey is going all Cosmos on us. It’s been three years since Harvey, one of our all-time great alt-rockers, released her most recent album I Inside The Old Year Dying. Since then, Harvey has released music for the stage and screen, but not for herself. That changes with the release of “Voyager,” the new song that Harvey wrote from the perspective of the NASA probe Voyager 2.

Storefront Church Announces New Album Blue Movie: Hear “Tendency For Violence”
The first song on Storefront Church’s new album is called “Sydney Sweeney.” I’m somewhat morbidly curious to find out what’s going on with that. I’ll have to wait; Blue Movie, the follow-up to 2024’s Ink & Oil (and last month’s Woah Yeah EP) is not out until September. In the meantime Lukas Frank has given us advance singles “Still Lying” and “Witness Protection,” and today, along with the album announcement, he’s added a third in “Tendency For Violence.”

Country Star, Seemingly Engaged, Sings At Football Benefit
Maybe Taylor Swift is really doing this country reboot? Or was her latest public appearance merely a case of right place, right time, right lyrics?

Bloodstock Bound: SUNK
Bloodstock Bound: SUNK
As Bloodstock gets closer, we delve deep into the line up to find out more about some of the bands playing the New Blood and EMP stages at this years event.
Today we chat with SUNK
Please introduce yourselves.
We are SUNK, from the south coast of this fair Isle – Andy (guitar) and Martin (bass) live in Bournemouth, Si (guitar) and Luke (drums) in Poole, and Geoff (vocals) lives near Southampton. Most of us have been playing together on-and-off in various bands for 30 years – so although we’re a “new” band, we come with a wealth of prior experience.
How would you describe your sound?
We’re a Doom-inspired Metal band – born of the Doom genre but with a lot of other Metal (and other) influences thrown into the mix which, perhaps, helps set us apart to a degree. One fan recently described us as “Low and Slow” – we like that!
How did you land your spot on the Bloodstock bill?
It was suggested that we throw our hat in the ring and we thought let’s give it a shot! We genuinely didn’t expect to win our heats – the competition and talent of the other bands was fierce – and we’ve been blown away by the reaction to our music!
What does playing at Bloodstock mean to you?
We feel extremely honoured – getting to play such a prestigious festival, especially on its 25th Anniversary, is very special!
For people who’ve never seen you live, what can they expect at Bloodstock?
Be prepared to get caught up in the world’s slowest circle pits!

What day are you performing?
Sunday 9th.
What other bands are you looking forward to watching at Bloodstock this year?
Geoff – Froglord, Urne, Saxon, Stampin Ground, Judas Priest, Death Angel
Simon – Lamb of God, Cryptopsy, Testament, Sepultura, Judas Priest, Nevermore
Andy – Lamb of God, Judas Priest, Urne, Inhuman Nature and Troll Mother
Luke – Testament and Lamb Of God
Martin – gutted that Of Mice & Men have had to drop out, but otherwise hoping to catch Bleed From Within, Northlane, Inhuman Nature, Graphic Nature, Stampin Ground, Urne and of course Lamb Of God!Playing the New Blood Stage is just the first steppingstone in a bands journey. What’s next in your plans for world domination?
We’re currently planning a 60 date tour of some of the UK’s finer residential care homes. This will also double as reconnaissance, as some of us are pushing on a bit in years…
Are you camping with the fans? Which campsite are you heading for?
We’ve been assigned to the Artist’s campsite, where we will be creating a secret Sunken lair.
You’ve gotta keep hydrated at Bloodstock, what is your drink of choice for the weekend?
Definitely not each others’ urine… It will probably be a heady cocktail of beer, ale, cider, wine and rum. What could go wrong.
See you at Bloodstock in a few weeks!
We’re very much looking forward to it!!
