Skindred are celebrating as their new album You Got This sits at Number 1 on the Official Midweek Album Chart. The band, fronted by Benji Webbe, are cautiously optimistic after narrowly missing the top spot with their 2023 release Smile.

You Got This showcases everything fans expect from Skindred, blending Heavy riffs with reggae, rap and dancehall influences. Tracks such as Can I Get A are already dominating airwaves, reaching top positions across major rock radio stations.

“If they can put a man on the moon, hopefully there should be some hope for putting a Ragga Metal band from Newport to Number 1 in the UK album charts,” Benji Webbe said. “The love we have been receiving for our new album has been amazing. Thank you to everyone who has gone out and bought a copy.”

The album has received widespread acclaim, praised for its energy, hooks and genre-blending sound. Skindred are currently performing live across the UK, with a full UK and Ireland headline tour set to begin in October, including a major London show at Alexandra Palace.

Release week performances and festival appearances are also underway, reinforcing the band’s position as one of the most dynamic acts in the Heavy Metal scene.

Unpeople are making a ferocious return ahead of a huge summer of festival appearances, unleashing thundering single ‘Clouds’.

Out now via SharpTone Records, it’s a whirlwind track with the kind of hooks that will get lodged in your head for days after your first listen.

Speaking on the message behind ‘Clouds’, frontman Jake Crawford has shared:

“clouds is essentially about not letting yourself be influenced by what other people think you should be doing to get ahead artistically, and trusting your own vision and process. I could feel myself being pulled in lots of directions when we started the band and I’m glad we stuck to our guns. I feel like this song is an excellent representation of us doing just that: ‘not buying it’ – i.e. quick fixes or hopping on trends – be it musically or the way we present ourselves as a unit.”
