We are bringing two of the best up and coming acts in metalcore today to make this a can’t miss show. This tour will also be the first place in the world where we do a tour celebrating the release of our brand new record Season of Surrender. We hope to see you all soon!” – August Burns Red

Crafting their signature brand of metalcore for over two decades, AUGUST BURNS RED have ferociously established themselves as one of the foremost acts in the genre. Hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, the band’s milestones and legacy spans everything from multiple top 10 placements on the Billboard Top 200, through to accumulating 600+ million streams, and tours with everyone from Bullet For My Valentine through to A Day To Remember and countless more. Also with two GRAMMY Award nominations in their wake, nominated for Best Metal Performance in 2016 for Identity and again in 2018 for Invisible Enemy, AUGUST BURNS RED have never rested on their laurels or stopped pushing the limits of their sound; a fact that has loudly carried into 2026 with the upcoming release of a their tenth studio album Season Of Surrender due out on June 5 via Fearless Records.

On a live front, AUGUST BURNS RED‘s reputation is as formidable as their creative output, renowned for their visceral performances across the globe, most recently stupefying Australian crowds in 2023 supporting Polaris nationally on the Fatalism Tour. Praised by Scenestr for delivering “a raging masterclass in pure American metalcore with a 20-year, career-spanning set list that resonated spectacularly” of the Adelaide show supporting Polaris, X-Press Magazine also declared of the band’s 2023 Perth performance on the same run that ABR demonstrated “why they have cemented themselves as one of the most respected names in the scene.”

    Bloom

One of Australia’s most prolific rising heavy acts, BLOOM wield an open-veined take on melodic hardcore that has seen them tour the globe, release two full-length albums and cultivate an army of dedicated fans along the way. Emerging in 2017, BLOOM released their 2024 debut full-length, Maybe In Another Life, before swiftly turning their gaze to their 2025 sophomore album, The Light We Chase. Wowing with their multi-faceted and matured collection of songs on album #2, also expanding their creative reach further than ever before, BLOOM kicked off 2026 with their biggest headline performances to date, touring Australia nationally to celebrate The Light We Chase. Whether sharing stages with the likes of Silverstein and Thornhill or enamouring as headliners, you can definitely count on one thing when it comes to a BLOOM live show: it is seriously not to be missed.

Ticking off their live Australian debut in 2026, Texas-hailing five-piece I PROMISED THE WORLD will arrive ready to stun this September and October. Born out of a desire to thrive in the face of tragedy, I PROMISED THE WORLD started life after the father of vocalist/guitarist Caleb Molina lost his life in 2020 due to COVID. Officially forming in 2023, I PROMISED THE WORLD is both an extension and expression of Molina’s grief, while also showcasing a cathartic defiance and celebration in the process. With nods to nostalgic sonic terrain woven into their creative DNA, I PROMISED THE WORLD‘s most recent full-length, their 2026 self-titled EP, showcased a rebirth of sorts for the group whole also notably blending screamo, Midwest emo, post hardcore and more. Most recently, I PROMISED THE WORLD supported The Devil Wears Prada across North America.

  • Mother Mary Is A Mystical Mess With Some Unforgettable Moments

I’m about to describe my favorite scene in Mother Mary, the new David Lowery arthouse character-piece in which Anne Hathaway plays the titular pop star. It’s not exactly a spoiler. The scene in question happens half an hour into Mother Mary. It’s not too deeply woven into the film’s plot architecture, but it is key to the ideas that the picture explores.

  • Travis Barker To Star On Disney’s Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

The details of the new Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been revealed, and there’s a very familiar face involved.

Opening on May 26, Travis Barker will make a cameo as you wait to board the new coaster design, from the queue through to the merch shop, alongside other stars such as “Weird Al” Yankovic, Danny Trejo, Awkwafina and more.

It’s fitting considering that Travis has revealed in the past that his first-ever drum kit was an ANIMAL-themed one!

The roller coaster’s soundtrack has also been revealed, featuring songs from The Electric Mayhem alongside some special guests. One of those is Def Leppard, delivering a new version of their 1983 hit ‘Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)’.

The new design and theming of the roller coaster follows on from the Aerosmith-focused version, which looked a lot like this:

  • DEEP MAJESTIC THUNDER Release New Single + Video ‘Drama Queen’

From the storm of sound and spirit emerges Deep Majestic Thunder – a genre-bending force where psychedelic funk, metal power, and mystic groove collide. Blending thunderous riffs, hypnotic basslines, and primal rhythm with raw, electrifying vocals, the band channels the ecstatic energy of rock’s golden age through a modern, apocalyptic lens.

Armed with their new single, ‘Drama Queen’, Deep Majestic Thunder breaks the silence on toxic manipulation and discharge a powerful new sonic assault on all the bullies of the world. They plan to expose the predators so we can all reclaim the power! ‘Drama Queen’ is a raw, anthemic powerhouse, think 90’s alt rock with a heavy funk bassline. The track shines a light on narcissistic bullying and offers a soaring, anthemic message of hope for anyone trying to heal from a manipulator’s shadow.

Deep Majestic Thunder isn’t just a band — it’s an invocation. A surge of raw human power. A call to awaken the ecstatic spirit, to dance through darkness, and to feel the electricity of truth in every vibration. Their sound is a hallucinogenic journey, transcending reality and igniting an inner odyssey of invincible transformation. Every riff and beat surges like a viking longship slicing through the stormy seas, while the groove anchors you firmly to the earthly plane. Fronted by the enigmatic Prince Charman, whose electrifying vocals evoke both primal and cosmic revelations and anchored by the hypnotic grooves of bass guitarist Funky Christos, this band is a veritable force of nature. Now with an exciting new guitarist and drummer locked in, Deep Majestic Thunder is set to unleash a sonic storm like no other, blending ancestral echoes with unyielding funk-metal fervour.

  • Marc Broussard: Chance Worth Taking Review

What is likely to happen when four A-list musical masterminds, with help from other elite musicians, come together to create a piece of artistic beauty? You receive a brilliant recording that is sure to satisfy even the most brutal critics. With that in mind, the way this recording was birthed is amazing in itself.

Louisiana-born Marc Broussard’s brand new release, Chance Worth Taking (on KTBA Records), offers fourteen tracks of masterfully done music and is his first venture into creating a total blues project. With bandmates and writing partners like Joe Bonamassa, Josh Smith, Calvin Turner, Reese Wynans, and Trombone Shorty (not to mention some other really great support from others), you can see why this album is an almost sure bet for success.

You can also scratch your head about how it came to be. Calvin Turner sent Broussard fifteen instrumental tracks with the idea of creating a total blues album. Broussard then put lyrics to the tracks in three days, and the cuts were polished up in the studio with the others involved in the recording. In the end, Chance Worth Taking was created.

Marc Broussard, already known for his soulful R&B-styled vocals, awards, and successes (along with twelve studio albums, three EPs, and one live album), may have very well found a new place to call home, considering his vocal performances on this album.

Trying to highlight a few of my favorite tracks on Chance Worth Taking has proved to be a daunting task, for sure. The album, as a whole, is that good.

“Trying To Do Right” features Joe Bonamassa with his always masterful guitar work. Broussard sings, “Keep trying to do right, but I keep on doing wrong.” Most of us have probably visited that exact place before in our own lives.

The fourth cut of this great collection is “No More,” and it’s a bluesy number, for sure, about love gone wrong. Anybody here know what I’m talking about? I bet most of us do. “Why don’t you miss me no more? Help me understand.” The guitar in this one is literally crying, or at least it sounds that way to me. Check it out for yourself.

“Satisfaction Guaranteed” is a dancing, good-time song that you can almost visualize. Broussard sings, “It’s getting harder and harder to breathe. Come home with me, darling, satisfaction guaranteed.” I love the guitar opening on this hot number, and the background vocals are really special.

The last two tunes on Chance Worth Taking are “Laissez Street Parade,” which is a short introduction to the last song on the recording, “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler” (translated, that is, “let the good times roll”).

These two pieces feature Trombone Shorty, and they are, for sure, letting the good times roll on these two tunes. There’s plenty of funky-styled, Cajun-flavored horns and percussion. “Tell you what I’m gonna do; gonna throw away my blues.” “Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler. Just like them folks down home say.”

These guys couldn’t have chosen a better way to bring this impressive masterpiece to a conclusion. From start to finish, this brand new recording showcases some of the finest playing and singing available anywhere.

Chance Worth Taking may be Marc Broussard’s first totally blues-oriented effort, but those who listen to this album will likely anxiously look forward to a similar follow-up in the near future.

Broussard is quoted as saying, “I’m still more versed in soul music than in blues, but I’m getting an education in the genre and its history from Joe and Josh.”

It would be great to hear more blues-influenced recordings coming from Broussard as he continues to navigate the outstanding career that he’s already established. As I always do, I encourage you to go out and catch Marc Broussard live as he tours in the U.S. during April and May.

Grab a copy of Chance Worth Taking. It will be one of those recordings that you will find yourself listening to over and over.
