  • Instrumentalist Of The Year WILL WILDE Releases Video For “Stole My Love”

Following his recent win as Instrumentalist of the Year at this year’s UK Blues Awards, Wilde releases the official video for “Stole My Love,” a standout track from his chart-topping album Blues Is Still Alive, which was released last year via VizzTone Label Group.

Will says “‘Stole My Love’ is one of my favourite tracks from the record to play live. It’s an intense slow blues about being cheated on, something that I think a lot of people can relate to.”

Renowned for his powerful and expressive harmonica playing, Wilde continues to push the boundaries of blues rock. The album serves as a bold tribute to the harmonica’s vital role in blues music, with his dynamic and electrifying style cementing his status as one of the genre’s most exciting rising artists, now further recognised with his Instrumentalist of the Year award.

Will comments: “I was very honoured to be awarded ‘Instrumentalist Of The Year’ at the UK Blues Awards. I want to thank everyone who voted for me. I’ve dedicated pretty much my whole adult life to playing blues harmonica, so to be recognised for it in this way means a lot to me. I’m now looking forward to heading back out on tour with my band across the UK and Europe, starting this Saturday at The Civic in Trowbridge.”

Will recently announced he’ll be opening for Eric Clapton at Sandringham Estate on 23rd August, marking the biggest show of his career to date.

  • 10 Best Songs With The Word ‘Season’ In The Title

When I started composing this list, I said to myself, ” No, I’m not going to do it. I am not going to put the song on this list that everybody probably thinks of as soon as they hear the word seasons in a song title. It’s just too obvious, so nope, you’re not going to find Terry Jacks “Seasons In The Sun” on this list. And I know that I will undoubtedly get comments, “how could you not put “Seasons in the Sun” on this list,” because most people won’t even read this first paragraph. But I don’t care,

MetalTalk venue Bannerman’s has announced they are to temporarily close due to “an ongoing ingress of water.” The venue will host Swell Maps and The Cat Burgers on 26 April before carrying out major works.

“Due to an ongoing ingress of water at Bannerman’s, we have had to take the decision to temporarily close and have some major works carried out,” a statement read. “April 26th will be the last show we host until all work is completed.

“We anticipate this to be a minimum of two months. We are going to use this time to also make some improvements to the venue, which will be a positive outcome in the end.

“We are currently trying to reschedule some of the shows that are in place or help find the band’s alternative places to play. In the case where this is not possible, please seek a refund from your point of purchase.

“We appreciate your understanding on this, and we look forward to inviting you back to an improved venue.”

Bannerman’s Bar, in Cowgate, Edinburgh, is an established venue on the circuit, with a well-known reputation for looking after the bands that play there. We all wish them the best and look forward to them being back stronger than ever.

  • Jenny On Holiday – “Androgynous” (The Replacements Cover)

When you think about the Replacements, the word “empathy” might not come to mind. That band operated as a whirlwind of chaos, blowing into town and leaving wreckage in their wake. It was their whole deal. But when you listen to their 1984 song “Androgynous” even today, the empathy on display is striking. At a…

  • Gig Review: Not Now Norman / Beau Anderson / Lovestruck – Banshee Labyrinth, Edinburgh (12th April 2026)

Newcomers Lovestruck are slightly nervous as they take to the stage. It’s only later that we learn that this is their first-ever live show, and so it’s entirely forgivable that the lads on guitar and bass spend much of the set focusing on their instruments. Despite the first-show jitters, the lead singer interacts well with … Continue reading Gig Review: Not Now Norman / Beau Anderson / Lovestruck – Banshee Labyrinth, Edinburgh (12th April 2026)
