The return of Acid Bath has been the reunion story of the year, and rightly so. Few bands occupy the kind of hallowed, untouchable space they carved out before tragedy tore them apart in 1997, and the weight of that legacy hung heavy in the air long before a single note was played. Their recent return to Boston’s Roadrunner saw the power of Metal prevail once again.
Now, in three weeks’ time, Acid Bath will take to a UK stage for the very first time with a show on 25 June 2026 at Manchester Academy.

Acid Bath emerged in the early ’90s as one of the most visionary and uncompromising forces in Heavy music, blending a molten fusion of sludge, doom, punk, grunge, and psychedelic rock into an otherworldly sonic experience.
Equal parts crushing heaviness and haunting beauty, wrapped in the shimmering strangeness of psychedelia, elevated by a set of magnetic lyrics that read like fractured poetry, exploring love, death, decay, and dreamlike visions that are as unsettling as they are profound.

The band’s legendary status was carved in stone across just two studio albums, When the Kite String Pops (1994) and Paegan Terrorism Tactics (1996).
Disbanding in early 1997, following the death of their bassist, Audie Pitre, Acid Bath carved out a legacy that continues to inspire generations of musicians and fans.

Nearly three decades later, fans’ fervent connection to Acid Bath has proven stronger than ever. With the initial announcement of shows in early 2025, the band’s return has been met with unprecedented excitement and demand, with shows selling out quickly and main-stage performances at all major festivals booked with capacity crowds.

Formed in 2017, by the end of that same year Wyrdstæf had been seen on British national television, appearing on Channel 4’s Britain’s Most Historic Towns, bringing to life the historic Icelandic family saga ‘Egil’s Saga’ in furious, unbridled fashion, as the show explored Viking heritage. Right from the start Wyrdstæf were making an impact, speaking to the […]
Ren has released the latest track in his ongoing ‘Inpatient’ project, a collaborative collection of songs crafted alongside rapper Chris Webby and producer JP On Da Track.
Titled ‘Tarantula’, it is a release that continues Ren’s streak of creating something that feels quintessentially British but also unlike anyone else at the same time. Combining ska, drum and bass and singer-songwriter openness, matched Chris Webby’s unique vocal delivery, it’s a tune that stalks slowly before jabbing at its prey. Overflowing with punk-leaning intent and honest emotional refrains, it’s yet another string in Ren’s ever-expanding bow.
Here it is:
It is the 5th track in the Inpatient series, which itself follows on from the incredible ‘Vincent’s Tale’ EP that arrived earlier this year.
Here is the previous offering, the beautiful ‘Caskets’:
