UK progressive blackened death metal outfit Mindlapse has released their new single, “Rage Of Masses,” through Ragebreed Records and Earache Digital Distribution . The track is taken from the band’s upcoming album Into Hell .
Blending progressive death metal with blackened atmospheres and cinematic storytelling, the song delivers a heavy, dynamic sound built on shifting structures, aggressive riffs, and dark melodic passages. • Video Premiere: Kallohonka – “Psychic Surgery”

A few months back we offered you a full stream of Texas noiseniks Kallohonka‘s debut album, Lazer Blood (which you can revisit here). We hope you’ve recovered sufficiently from that exposure and are prepared for a video from one of the tracks, “Psychic Surgery,” on said long player. In this video, seemingly shot at a gig at the Double Wide club in Dallas, features not only the band—Amie Carson (vocals), James Magruder (bass/howls/auxiliary whatever), Jason Mullins (guitars), Alec Rabb (drums)—in full regalia, but you may also spot a trumpet player and some additional vocalists screaming/yodeling/wailing in agony. It’s a psychedelic nightmare of Butthole Surfers-level insanity. The video for “Psychic Surgery” was shot by Justin Powers, Magruder and Bryan “Wally” Walior, and edited by Justin Powers.

Lazer Blood was issued in March via Memory Terminal Records. It’s available for purchase here and here.

Bassist James Magruder offered this cryptic description of Kallohonka’s new video:

“Witness the Chaos, Exultation, and Catharsis of Kallohonka. Become a corvine wizard! An anarchist shopping cart! A 12-foot teetering wheel of pizza! You can be anything, really.”

  • UK Deathcore Force Suffer Drop Crushing New Single “Soul From Flesh” – OUT NOW – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UK Deathcore Force Suffer Drop Crushing New Single “Soul From Flesh” – OUT NOW

UK deathcore heavyweights Suffer have officially released their brand new single “Soul From Flesh,” now available worldwide alongside its full music video premiering via Slam Worldwide.
Watch the video now via Slam Worldwide.

“Soul From Flesh” marks the next chapter in the band’s ongoing resurgence following their 2025 reformation and lineup evolution. With a sharper edge and a more deliberate, punishing direction, Suffer continue to push forward after the impact of their recent era reset and the release of “Pendulum of Vengeance.”
This is not just another single. It is the title track of their upcoming EP, due August 2026, with the artwork for the single also serving as the official EP cover. Full EP details are set to be revealed in June once final tracks are locked.
No filler. No compromise. Just intent.
The track dives deeper into the band’s core themes of internal conflict, raw instinct, and psychological collapse, pushing further into the darker territory they’ve carved out in the modern deathcore landscape. Expect precision, violence in tone, and zero interest in playing it safe.
The band confirmed the release cycle is now fully in motion, with everything building toward a larger statement arriving in August. More EP details are coming soon.
“Soul From Flesh” was created by the current lineup featuring Greg Hevican on vocals and Klaudiusz Trzebuniak on guitar. The chemistry has already proven itself live and in the studio, and this release pushes it even further over the edge.
Following a run of explosive live shows and a growing European presence, Suffer continue to expand their reach under their booking partnership with DC Sound Attack.
The single’s visual component premiered via Slam Worldwide, cementing the band’s presence across major underground metal platforms.
This is not a reset. It is continuation with the volume pinned past the limit.

  • Sturgill Simpson Puts Johnny Blue Skies’ Mutiny After Midnight On Streaming With A Bonus Cover

Sturgill Simpson’s Mutiny After Midnight — released under his Johnny Blue Skies alias — was one of the best albums of the year. At first it was only available physically (though it was briefly on YouTube), but today is the country-rock maverick’s birthday and to celebrate he put it on streaming with a bonus cover.

  • Review: Blood Incantation – All Gates Open [Century Media Records]

Uhhhh… Well, this one caught me completely off guard.

When I saw Blood Incantation had released the soundtrack to their own documentary, I honestly wasn’t expecting to spend much time with it. A soundtrack album from a death metal band isn’t usually something that ends up in regular rotation. Then I put it on.

The first surprise is how little this feels like a soundtrack. The second is how little it feels like Blood Incantation, at least on the surface. There are no riffs, no growls, no moments where the band suddenly remembers they’re supposed to be one of the most talked-about death metal acts of the last decade. Instead, All Gates Open drifts through more than an hour of analog synths, slow-moving melodies and long stretches of atmosphere.

“Balance” takes its time getting anywhere, but that’s exactly why it works. Nothing feels rushed. The music unfolds so gradually that after ten minutes you almost stop paying attention to individual sounds and start following the overall mood instead. “Flight” introduces a little more tension, while “Dawn” might be the most understated piece here. By the time “Rain” arrives, the album feels completely detached from the world outside your headphones.

What struck me most is how warm the whole thing sounds. A lot of modern ambient music can feel distant or clinical. This doesn’t. Everything breathes. The analog recording approach gives the album a soft, organic character that suits the material perfectly.

I kept thinking back to Timewave Zero while listening. That record already hinted that Blood Incantation were interested in exploring territory far beyond death metal, but All Gates Open feels even more comfortable in its own skin. There’s no sense that the band is trying to prove anything. They simply follow the music wherever it wants to go.

I also wouldn’t call this challenging ambient music. Plenty of artists working in the genre aim for discomfort, tension or abstraction. Blood Incantation seem more interested in creating space. There were moments when I realized several minutes had passed without me really thinking about anything at all, which is probably the highest compliment I can give a record like this.

Will every Blood Incantation fan enjoy it? Probably not. Anyone showing up expecting Absolute Elsewhere Part II is likely going to be confused. But for listeners who appreciate the band’s more exploratory side, there’s a lot to enjoy here.

More than anything, All Gates Open feels honest. Not like a side project, not like an experiment, and definitely not like a contractual soundtrack release. It feels like music the band genuinely wanted to make. That’s probably why it works so well.

Why the hell did I write this review when I’m not a fan of this kind of music at all? Hell if I know! Maybe it’s because I’m a fan of the band’s death metal albums, so I was curious to see what the hell they decided to do this time in their history.

  • CDN Records Announces “The Forgotten” Red Vinyl LP Reissue from Canadian Death Metal Legends Rotting – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CDN Records Announces “The Forgotten” Red Vinyl LP Reissue from Canadian Death Metal Legends Rotting
Out Now • Limited Red Vinyl Edition Available for Order
    https://cdnrecords.com/shop/rotting-the-forgotten-lp/
CDN Records proudly announces the release of The Forgotten , a definitive archival compilation from Canadian brutal death metal pioneers Rotting , now available as a striking red vinyl LP. Remastered by acclaimed producer Dan Swäno, this release dropped May 29th, 2026 and is available now through CDN Records while supplies last.
This special edition stands as a raw and unfiltered document of one of Canada’s most important underground extreme metal acts. Before technical precision and modern production defined the genre, Rotting helped shape the foundation of brutal death metal through sheer weight, atmosphere, and uncompromising intensity. Emerging from Newmarket, Ontario in 1991, the band carved out a reputation built on devastating riffs, cavernous vocals, and a deliberately abrasive sonic identity that influenced a generation of underground musicians.
The Forgotten collects essential early recordings that trace Rotting’s evolution before their landmark album Crushed . The compilation features material from the infamous “Human Race Liquidation” demo alongside the more refined but equally punishing “Drown in Rotting Flesh” sessions. Together, these recordings capture a band operating at full creative force, refusing trends and leaning into a sound defined by analog heaviness and physical impact.
Guitar work from Jeff White and Rob Macaulay drives the record with dense, crushing riffs, while Keith Devry delivers relentless percussion that anchors the release in pure rhythmic violence. Korey Arnold’s subterranean vocal delivery completes the signature Rotting sound, a style that became instantly recognizable within global tape trading and underground zine culture.
In keeping with the band’s original ethos, this reissue preserves the integrity of the source material. No modern overproduction has been applied, and the recordings remain faithful to their original tape-era grit. The result is a release that prioritizes atmosphere, weight, and authenticity over digital refinement.
This edition of The Forgotten also includes two of Rotting’s final recorded tracks, “I Want You Dead” and “Bear Attack,” offering a rare glimpse into the closing chapter of their early era.
Released through CDN Records , the red vinyl edition of The Forgotten is available now for $30.00 CAD. International orders outside Canada and the United States are available upon request through the label.
This is not just a reissue. It is a restoration of a foundational era in Canadian extreme metal history.

  • Electric Callboy and The Offspring “Let the Good Times Roll” on Gloriously Unhinged New Single

Electric Callboy and The Offspring "Let the Good Times Roll" on Gloriously Unhinged New Single

Electric Callboy have recruited punk rock institution The Offspring, and an absurdly stacked cast of cameos, for their new single "Let The Good Times Roll," the latest preview of their forthcoming album TANZNEID, due August 7 via Century Media Records.

The track is full of classic Electric Callboy elements: crushing riffs colliding with massive pop hooks, electronic flourishes, and the kind of tongue-in-cheek energy that has made the German six-piece one of heavy music's most entertaining live acts. Dexter Holland (of The Offspring) adds instantly recognizable vocals that slot into the chaos like they were always meant to be there.

The accompanying music video was filmed in Los Angeles and goes full send on the band's signature brand of absurdity. Comedian and television personality Howie Mandel, actor and comedian Brian Posehn, and metal icon John Goblikon all show up to embrace the mayhem, turning the clip into a highlight reel of gleeful nonsense.

For Electric Callboy, the collab carries real emotional weight. The band described the partnership as nothing short of surreal, noting that The Offspring's music helped shape them long before Electric Callboy even existed. Getting to share a track with one of their biggest early influences makes "Let The Good Times Roll" a full-circle moment.

Dexter Holland, for his part, was equally enthusiastic. He described the song as immediately putting a grin on his face, calling it energetic and unpredictable—the kind of spirit that drew him to punk and rock music from the very beginning.

The single arrives as Electric Callboy storms into the European festival season, fresh off a nearly sold-out North American headline run. Rock am Ring, Rock im Park, Download Festival, and Graspop Metal Meeting are all on the calendar before the summer is out, followed by headline dates in Japan and Australia. The entire world tour builds toward Escalation Fest 2026 in Berlin, the band's massive hometown celebration at Parkbühne Wuhlheide on August 8, where they'll perform TANZNEID live for the very first time.

Electric Callboy is also launching a global scavenger hunt tied to the album's release. Mysterious Pink Boxes will begin appearing at festivals, cities, and unexpected locations around the world. Most contain exclusive rewards. A select few hold a Golden Ticket: lifetime complimentary access to Electric Callboy headline shows worldwide for the finder and a guest. The hunt can be tracked in real time on the interactive World of TANZNEID map.

    TANZNEID arrives August 7.

    Thanks for reading!
