Ghost has announced “2 Big To Rig,” a new feature-length concert film capturing the final nights of their record-breaking “Skeletour” world tour, shot entirely on 16mm film during two sold-out shows at Mexico City’s Palacio de los Deportes in September 2025. The film hits theaters and IMAX worldwide beginning August 26, with tickets going on sale July 23. It’s the band’s second collaboration with Trafalgar Releasing, following 2024’s “Rite Here Rite Now,” which became the highest-grossing hard rock cinema event in U.S. history.

The Mexico City Shows Behind The Film

Loaded Radio first caught wind of this project back in May, when details were still thin. Now the full picture is clear: the film was originally meant to capture three nights in Mexico City, but the first show was canceled due to illness, leaving just two — meaning “2 Big To Rig” documents a nearly 40,000-person crowd across a genuinely compressed, high-stakes stand. Shooting on 16mm rather than digital was a deliberate choice, giving the film a grittier, more physical texture than a standard modern concert film.

Unlike “Rite Here Rite Now,” which blended narrative and concert footage, “2 Big To Rig” is built purely around the live ritual itself — behind-the-scenes looks at the crew that builds Ghost’s theatrical stage show nightly, plus what’s described as the only professionally shot footage from the tour’s entire “phone-free” run. Trafalgar Releasing EVP Kymberli Frueh called it “a nostalgic experience and a fitting farewell to an era for fans,” language that lines up with Ghost’s own confirmation that the band is stepping back for a break once this chapter closes.

Why ‘Skeletour’ Was Such A Big Deal

The tour this film documents wasn’t just large — it was historically successful. Ghost’s sixth album “Skeletá” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May 2025, earning 86,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with a striking 89% of that figure coming from traditional sales and vinyl alone accounting for over 44,000 copies. That made “Skeletá” the first hard rock album to hit No. 1 since AC/DC’s “Power Up” in 2020 — a five-year drought for the genre at the top of the chart. “Skeletour” itself ran 70 shows across North America, Europe, and Mexico between 2025 and February 2026, surviving even a string of January cancellations in Knoxville, Charlotte, and Greenville tied to a regional state of emergency.

“2 Big To Rig” pulls from all six Ghost albums, including material from “Skeletá” alongside long-time non-album favorites “Mary On A Cross,” “Kiss The Go-Goat,” and “The Future Is A Foreign Land.” It features frontman Papa V Perpetua and the band’s Nameless Ghouls at what Trafalgar describes as their best-sounding and best-looking on film to date — a real claim given Ghost’s catalog now spans six studio albums and nearly two decades of evolving stagecraft.

The title track from the New England trio’s new album has a lot going on despite its spry, minimal arrangement. Instruments enter and exit the frame all the time as Chelsey Hahn and Chad Jewitt trade off rallying cries over a pogo-punk beat. Both the craftsmanship and the energy level are remarkable.

Members of Tool, Pearl Jam, Garbage, Fugazi and Bikini Kill are among the musicians who have made donations to the GoFundMe campaign set up to help L7 bassist Jennifer Finch with medical treatment expenses following her recent brain cancer diagnosis.

As the 59-year-old Californian musician is undergoing treatment, she will no longer be able to participate in the Los Angeles punk band’s Last Hurrah Tour scheduled to take place in North America later this year, but she has urged her bandmates to continue in her absence while she receives medical care.

At the time of writing, the GoFundMe campaign set up on July 13, had received donations totalling $365,382, surpassing its $350K goal.

The fund will assist:

Professional in-home nursing care, physical and speech therapy, medical equipment, and other essential care for Finch.

Covering home-care expenses that will allow the bassist to remain safely and comfortably at home.

Recouping significant out-of-pocket medical expenses and legal fees

Preserving Jennifer’s legacy by creating an archive of her artistic and creative work and the completion of a significant creative project that was scheduled for release next year.

Among the contributions, Garbage have donated $8,000, Pearl Jam bassist Jeff Ament has donated $4,500, Bikini Kill vocalist Kathleen Hanna has given $5,000 and Tool’s Maynard James Keenan has donated £2,500. Together with his wife Gina, Brett Gurewitz, the former Bad Religion guitarist and owner of Epitaph Records, has made a $10,000 donation.

In an update posted on July 14, the organisers of the campaign wrote, “We are absolutely BLOWN AWAY by the support, love and how far this campaign went yesterday. We are all so grateful for the community showing up far and wide to support Jennifer.

“One comment we received said, ‘you have an army behind you’, and with the support we are receiving we truly feel that. When that comment came in I immediately read it to Jennifer and it touched her so much.”

The mysterious Brooklyn collective Standing On The Corner released a new album last year, but you probably didn’t hear it. You had to really work to hear SOTC (“II”), since the LP has never appeared on a streaming service or anything. Instead, it was only available as a $50 DVD that you could buy from some guy with a bag full of them in Times Square on 9/11. That was it. It was the only way. But that’s about to change, since SOTC (“II”) will now get a proper release this year on 9/11, exactly one year after that sketchy DVD sale.

Formed in 2025, John Fly embraces the idea that no two songs should sound exactly alike. Every track explores new territory while remaining rooted in the heavy alternative rock and metal traditions that inspired them. Despite performing as a duo, the band delivers a remarkably full sound both in the studio and on stage, with plans to add a touring bassist in the near future.
