  • VOÏVOD Announces New Live Album “Symphonique” Featuring Quebec Symphony Orchestra, Share Visualizer Video For First Single

After more than 40 eventful years of existence, Canada’s progressive sci-fi metal innovators Voïvod return with Symphonique, a special live release together with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra, set for release on June 5, 2026, worldwide via Century Media Records.

Symphonique, which functions like an epic piece of cinema, showcases Voïvod’s pioneering futuristic metal with the strains of a symphony orchestra, and features a carefully curated Voïvod best-of setlist composed of 12 songs across 73 minutes, recorded live on June 4th, 2025, at the Grand Théâtre in Québec City, Canada.

Offering a first taste of Simphonique,’ the band has shared the first single, “Forgotten In Space (Symphonique),” alongside an official visualizer curated by Cloud Motion Design.

    Pre-order the album here.

Voïvod’s drummer and founding member Michel “Away” Langevin comments: This live album with the Quebec Symphony Orchestra is a longtime dream turned reality. Thankfully, we will experience it again in 2027 with the Orchestre Symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean, right in the region where Voïvod formed back in 1983. We wish to take this show across the globe with local orchestras one day, but in the meantime, I hope you will enjoy this epic release. It’s the closest we’ve ever come to sounding like a dystopian sci-fi movie soundtrack, another dream of ours!”

About the first single “Forgotten in Space (Symphonique),” bassist Dominic “Rocky” Laroche adds: “Taken from the album Killing Technology, ‘Forgotten in Space’ transports us to a Mad Max-esque science-fiction universe. Denis “Piggy” D’Amour was even inspired by it when composing parts of the original version. This incredible symphonic masterpiece, orchestrated by Hugo Begin, offers a powerful orchestral introduction that takes us on a musical journey where the fusion of metal and classical music invites us to imagine, for 6 minutes and 27 seconds, that humanity itself may have been forgotten in space…”

  • Slayyyter – “Broke Bitch Free$tyle”

Last month, the St. Louis artist Slayyter, who our own Chris DeVille once described as “normcore hyperpop,” released her album Wor$t Girl In America. I played it once or twice, liked it, and then found myself coming back to it again and again. It’s a frenzied, over-the-top take on mall-pop, like what might’ve happened if…

  • 20-year-old Amani Burnham title track from debut album

Rising blues-rock artist Amani Burnham has released “Roots & Wings,” the title track from his forthcoming debut album. The single is available now on all digital platforms and arrives alongside an official studio video filmed during recording sessions at Carriage House Studios on October 24, 2025.

At 20 years old, Burnham continues to build momentum following his earlier singles “The Last Thing I Remember” and “I Wanna Know.” “Roots & Wings” marks a more personal release, centered on themes of identity and belonging, reflecting his experience as an adoptee.

“This song is really about understanding where you come from while still finding your own path,” says Burnham. “‘Roots & Wings’ is me realizing that both my birth parents—who I’ve never met—and my adoptive parents are part of who I am, and that’s something to be proud of.”

The track features Burnham’s signature guitar style, played with his right-hand thumb rather than a pick, giving the performance a fluid and expressive tone. Backed by a power trio, “Roots & Wings” blends traditional blues elements with a modern approach.

The accompanying video offers a behind-the-scenes look at the recording process, capturing the performance live in the studio and highlighting the chemistry between Burnham and his band.

Burnham initially gained attention through performance videos on social media, where he has accumulated nearly 30 million views in under two years. His playing has drawn recognition for its phrasing and expressive feel.

“Roots & Wings” is the title track from Burnham’s debut album, due out May 29 on Blind Pig Records. The 12-track album was recorded at Carriage House Studios and represents Burnham’s first full-length release.
