Rise Against with Destroy Boys at Treefort Music Hall
KRISSY COMER | Go Venue Magazine
On Tuesday, March 31st, 2026, at Treefort Music Hall, Rise Against screamed and rocked the stage with Speed of Light and then Destroy Boys opening for them.
Speed of Light is a family metal band with Mia Montalvo (vocals) Tyler Montalvo (guitar) Riley Montalvo (bass) and Nico Montalvo (drums). This band also started young and built a following early on. Seeing the power they have on stage lets you know, soon they will be opening their own shows. Think of a heavy metal backbone with thrash energy. Trust me, you won’t fall asleep during their show!
The band Destroy Boys originated in Sacramento, California around 2015. The main three members are Alexia Roditis (vocals/guitar) Violet Mayugba (guitar/vocals) and Narsai Malik (drums). They started when they were teenagers. Seeing them live you would guess they were older since they had a 80’s punk energy to them. They have even joked their vibe is like “Blondie crashing a Misfits recording session.” They also have that garage punk sound that makes you want to dance the night away! I appreciated that being queer myself, they wanted to make a point they care about the LGBTQ+ community and to show compassion especially to the trans community.
Rise Against took to the stage with high energy chords and vocals that had me and everyone else screaming with our whole chests! Their song “Savior” is my favorite and too catchy to be ignored by anyone. You have to jump around and throw your fist up! Man they know how to harmonize. They came out of the late 90’s punk/ hardcore scene but have also intertwined with melodic hardcore, punk rock and alternative rock. Current members include Tim Mcllrath (lead vocals) Joe Principe (bass/ backing vocals) Zach Blair (lead guitar/ backing vocals) and Brandon Barnes (drums/ percussion). Check out other popular songs like “Swing Life Away”, “Hero of War”, “Re-Education” and you’ll be hooked! Their songs are more than just songs, each one tells a completely different story that draws you in. You would probably be surprised by how many songs you recognize from streaming playlists or even the radio. This was my first time seeing them and I already look forward to their next show. If they aren’t playing near you on this tour, check out their new album, Ricochet, and put it on repeat! You won’t be disappointed!

Moving deeper into Midnight Sun, the second track “The Hill” shines with a distinct swagger. It captures the essence of classic Southern rock reminiscent of Lynyrd Skynyrd. The blending of old and new creates a mesmerizing rhythm that dances through the air. This track highlights the band’s ability to pay homage to the past while embracing modern production techniques. The harmony and interplay of instruments create an atmosphere that resonates with heart and soul. Each note seems to celebrate the rich heritage of American music.

The album shifts gears with “Holy Cadillac.” This lively track feels like a celebration of rural America. Imagining a small-town gathering, the music paints vivid pictures of jovial festivities. The upbeat tempo and spirited lyrics encourage listeners to dance and revel. Its infectious joy could easily fit into the backdrop of a Coen Brothers film. Each strum of the guitar and beat of the drums captures the essence of community and camaraderie.
Another standout track, “La Fiesta,” introduces a touch of flair from Mexican rhythms. The vibrant sounds captivate the audience and are bound to evoke smiles. With lyrics woven in Spanish, the song adds an element of multiculturalism. One can imagine joyous scenes reminiscent of lively gatherings and celebrations. The lively spirit of “La Fiesta” undoubtedly showcases Witty Tarbox’s versatility and willingness to explore new territories.
As the album progresses, “Last Call” brings an edgier vibe to the mix. The punk influences are evident through driving rhythms and spirited guitar riffs. SEWER ALTAR – Finnish Death-Grind Provocateurs Announce Debut Full-Length Album “Fever Dreams of Vengeance”

Finnish death-grind provocateurs SEWER ALTAR are set to unleash their debut full-length album, Fever Dreams of Vengeance, on April 24th, 2026.
The first single “Landfill Sky Burial” is now streaming HERE.
Following the critical acclaim of their 2024 demo, the band returns with a record that expands upon their earlier vision, delivering a relentless surge of death-grind sharpened with hardcore intensity.
Fever Dreams of Vengeance is both punishing and playful, balancing ferocious riffs and blastbeats with a sense of dynamism that keeps listeners engaged from start to finish. The album’s compact, high-octane tracks are crafted for impact, combining the brutality of grindcore with the groove and energy of hardcore, creating moments that are as likely to trigger moshing as they are to impress with precision and creativity.

Serrated and tight, yet bursting with infectious hooks, the songs on Fever Dreams of Vengeance are a testament to SEWER ALTAR’s command of their sound. Every track is meticulously arranged to balance chaos and cohesion, ensuring that the listener is swept up in the energy without ever losing clarity or direction.
Lyrically, SEWER ALTAR delves into death metal themes of defilement and horror, intertwining them with the pervasive malaise of sociopolitical inequality. The band reclaims the societal irreverence and paranoia aimed at the lower classes, embracing it as a spiritual totem that guides the album’s dark and uncompromising vision.
