Insane Clown Posse’s annual Gathering Of The Juggalos festival is set to start today in beautiful Macks Creek, Missouri. ICP lead a lineup that includes Freedom 250 talent Vanilla Ice and Milli Vanilli, as well as Tech N9ne, Hatebreed, Sarah Sherman, DJ Paul, and the Pharcyde. I bet it’ll be fun as fuck. Unfortunately, though, the Gathering will have to go down without Bluntman’s One-Stop Shop in the Merch Bizzar, since Bluntman was arrested and charged with drug trafficking on the way to the Gathering. We’ve been buzzing about the rising London combo World News for so long that I almost can’t believe they’re just now announcing their debut album, but it’s true: In Purgatory is about to get out of purgatory with release set for October on Pie & Mash. The album will feature the April single “Sidestep” as well as last year’s “Everything Is Coming Up Roses” and “Don’t Want To Know.” Today the band adds to that hot streak with a video for the Knopfler-meets-Marr clean-guitar clinic “The Way It Goes.”

Over the past year or two, the Boston hardcore workhorses Haywire have been on an absolutely insane run, becoming online cult heroes simply by playing ridiculously fun live shows in front of crowds that get bigger and more fired-up all the time. Last year, over the course of one calendar year, Haywire played shows in all 50 states, an absolutely wild undertaking. They busted out covers — Title Fight in Wilkes-Barre, Trapped Under Ice in Baltimore, the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in their hometown. Earlier this year, I seriously considered driving two and a half hours both ways to see them play what appeared to be a rental office space in Roanoke. I would’ve been a zombie the next day, but I should’ve done it. Wild videos from Haywire live shows are in my feed all the time. They are poised to make a huge leap, and maybe that’ll happen when they drop their new album.
