SWEETLAND REIGNITE ATTENTION ON PARIAH EP — OUT NOW PSYCHEDELIC DOOM RELEASE RETURNS TO THE SPOTLIGHT

Sweetland are circling back to the underground with renewed focus on their 2025 release Pariah EP , a dense slab of Psychedelic Doom Metal that continues to earn attention well beyond its initial drop.
Originally released November 4, 2025, Pariah EP is not a comeback or a reinvention. It’s a reminder. Heavy, slow, and deliberately unpolished, the record sits in that thick space between collapse and clarity, pulling influence from the crushing dynamics of Melvins , the hypnotic weight of Monolord , and the expansive, genre bending scope often associated with Devin Townsend .
Now, with fresh promotion and renewed push through the underground circuit, Sweetland are giving the EP a second life, aiming it at new listeners who may have missed it the first time around.
Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Zach Thomas, the production stays intentionally raw and immersive, letting the riffs breathe, drag, and collapse exactly how they were meant to.
    Band Statement

“We never saw Pariah as something that had an expiration date. Doom doesn’t age out. It just waits. This is us pulling it back into the light for the people who weren’t there the first time.”

  • The Silent Treatment: John 5 Admits He Hasn’t Spoken to Rob Zombie Since Joining Mötley Crüe

STREAM THE METAL BREAKDOWN DAILY BELOW:

For nearly two decades, guitarist John 5 and Rob Zombie were considered one of the most unbreakable duos in rock. But in a startling new revelation, the current Mötley Crüe shredder has confirmed that the bridge between him and his former boss hasn’t just been crossed—it’s gone completely silent.

Speaking on a recent podcast, John 5 exposed the bittersweet reality of his high-profile exit, admitting that despite seventeen years of brotherhood, the two haven’t shared a single word since he jumped ship to join the “World’s Most Notorious Rock Band.”

17 Years of Brotherhood Vanish into Silence

Between 2005 and 2022, John 5 was the backbone of Rob Zombie’s solo empire, contributing to five studio albums and performing at hundreds of legendary live spectacles. When the opportunity arose to replace Mick Mars in Mötley Crüe, John 5 took the “once-in-a-lifetime” leap, but it came at a significant personal cost.

Appearing on the Thinking About Guitar podcast, John 5 got candid about the current state of his relationship with Zombie. “I haven’t spoken to Rob, unfortunately,” the guitarist confirmed. “Of course, I miss him. And 17 years [together] and I love him. And I wish nothing but the best for him. But I have no ill will towards Rob Zombie whatsoever.”

The guitarist explained that his decision to leave was driven by a hunger for new experiences rather than any internal friction. “Life is short and I want to experience as much as possible,” John 5 explained. “I know that might be selfish, but I just didn’t want to have this pass by.”

The “Session Player” Reality: Why John 5 Jumped Ship

In a quote that has sparked intense debate among fans, John 5 revealed that despite his long tenures with Marilyn Manson and Rob Zombie, he never truly felt like a permanent fixture. “I was never a band member with anything,” he noted. “I’ve never been a band member with Manson or Rob or Mötley Crüe or anything.”

This “hired gun” mentality seemingly made the transition to the Crüe easier on a professional level, but the emotional fallout remains. Back in 2022, John 5 noted that Zombie “wasn’t psyched” about the news but seemed to understand. However, the guitarist’s initial fear—that reaching out would result in a cold shoulder—seems to have become his current reality.

Two Paths in 2026: The Carnival vs. The Twins of Evil

As the silence continues, both artists are moving forward with massive summer plans. Mötley Crüe is currently preparing for their nationwide “Return of the Carnival of Sins” tour, a high-stakes run that will showcase John 5’s technical mastery on the band’s biggest hits.

Meanwhile, Rob Zombie is returning to his roots, embarking on a massive co-headlining trek with Marilyn Manson starting this August. With both camps on the road simultaneously, the rock world is watching closely to see if these two legends will finally break the silence or if seventeen years of history have officially been left in the dust.

FAQ: John 5 and Rob Zombie Fallout

Did John 5 and Rob Zombie have a fight? No. John 5 maintains there is “no bad blood” and that he loves Zombie. However, they have simply not communicated since John 5 joined Mötley Crüe in 2022.

Who replaced John 5 in Rob Zombie’s band? Following John 5’s departure, Rob Zombie reunited with original guitarist Mike Riggs, who has been performing with the band ever since.

Is John 5 a permanent member of Mötley Crüe? While John 5 performs and records as their lead guitarist, he recently described himself in a “session” capacity, noting he has never technically been a “band member” in the traditional legal sense with any of his major employers.

  • ANDERWELT RESURFACE WITH THEIR THOUGHT-PROVOKING RELEASE TRANSANIMALISM — A DARK ATMOSPHERIC JOURNEY THROUGH POSTHUMAN EVOLUTION – @thebeast

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ANDERWELT RESURFACE WITH THEIR THOUGHT-PROVOKING RELEASE TRANSANIMALISM — A DARK ATMOSPHERIC JOURNEY THROUGH POSTHUMAN EVOLUTION
Vienna, Austria — Some albums deserve more than a quick spin through the algorithm grinder. Anderwelt are bringing their powerful release Transanimalism back into the spotlight, reminding listeners why the album continues to resonate long after its original October 24, 2024 release through Electric Fire Records .
Blending atmospheric metal with haunting E-cello arrangements, Transanimalism is more than just an album. It’s a philosophical deep dive wrapped in crushing soundscapes, cinematic tension, and apocalyptic storytelling. Drawing influence from acts like Cult of Luna , Amenra , and Gojira , Anderwelt craft a listening experience that feels equally reflective and devastating.
At the center of the album lies a fascinating concept rooted in transhumanism, the controversial idea of using technology to transcend biological limits and redefine existence itself. Rather than tackling the subject head-on through a purely human perspective, Anderwelt twists the narrative into something darker and more surreal.
In the world of Transanimalism , transhumanist technology survives a collapsed civilization and falls into the hands, or paws, of animals in a post-apocalyptic future. The album explores what happens next. Would these creatures repeat humanity’s obsession with immortality, power, and control? Or would they choose a different path entirely, one grounded in acceptance of nature, mortality, and balance?
The band delivers these themes with their trademark blend of philosophical reflection and biting satire, creating an album that feels eerily relevant in today’s increasingly technology-driven world.
Musically, Transanimalism moves between towering walls of heaviness, hypnotic atmosphere, emotional crescendos, and experimental orchestral textures powered by the band’s unique use of E-cello. The production remains organic and immersive, with recording and mixing handled by Anderwelt and mastering completed by Pure Sound Recordings in Vienna, Austria.
While many releases come and go in the modern music cycle, Transanimalism is the kind of album that lingers. It challenges listeners to think while pulling them into a darkly imaginative universe where the line between evolution and self-destruction becomes razor thin.
For fans searching for metal with depth, atmosphere, and something meaningful to say, Anderwelt’s Transanimalism deserves another trip through the speakers.

  • The SatchVai Band Turn Virtuosity Into Something Bigger at the Ryman Auditorium

From Guitar Heroes to Bandmates: The SatchVai Band Take Over the Ryman Auditorium

SATCHVAI BAND LIVE AT THE RYMAN AUDITORIUM IN NASVILLE, TN ON 5/7/26

For decades, the pairing of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai has felt inevitable. Their names have long been linked through guitar magazines, G3 tours, and a shared history that dates back to Vai taking lessons from Satriani as a teenager on Long Island. At Ryman Auditorium, the SatchVai Band finally pushed that relationship into something deeper than a collaborative jam session. This was not two virtuosos trading solos for nostalgia. It felt like the launch of a real band with chemistry, structure, and purpose.

With a soon-to-be-released 10-song SatchVai Band album on the horizon, Satriani and Vai have assembled a lineup filled with musicians equally capable of supporting their vision. Holding down rhythm guitar duties was Pete Thorn, while Kenny Aronoff handled drums and Marco Mendoza anchored the low end on bass. Having seen both guitar legends separately before, seeing them share the same stage felt like an opportunity that could not be missed.

The audience inside the Ryman understood they were witnessing something different from a standard guitar clinic. This was not simply Joe and Steve endlessly shredding scales into the night air, but actual songs carefully structured around their individual styles of playing. Satriani leaned into melody and groove while Vai countered with sharp phrasing and unpredictable runs, creating a balance that rarely felt forced.

The material itself proved that the project was built around collaboration rather than competition. At no point did it feel like either guitarist was trying to outplay the other. Instead, the performance highlighted how naturally their musical ideas flowed together, something that could only come from decades of familiarity and mutual respect.

One of the strongest aspects of the performance was how often the band format took priority over individual showmanship. The setlist balanced solo material with songs reworked specifically for the SatchVai Band format. Tracks originally built around a single guitarist carried expanded arrangements that gave both players room to contribute without overcrowding the songs. That approach helped the night avoid becoming exhausting, especially for an audience already familiar with each guitarist’s reputation.

One of the biggest highlights of the evening came when Vai unveiled his Hydra guitar. The one-of-a-kind instrument was specially designed for him and features three necks, including 7-string and 12-string guitars, a 4-string 3/4-scale bass neck, 13 sympathetic harp strings, and a half-fretless neck. The instrument can be heard prominently on Vai’s track “Teeth of the Hydra.” Watching him navigate such an unconventional creation in a live setting was impressive, especially considering how complex the instrument appears at first glance.

Throughout the night, the audience was treated to classics including “Surfing with the Alien,” “Satch Boogie,” “Zeus in Chains,” “Little Pretty,” and the SatchVai track “Dancing.” In a genre where instrumental rock can sometimes disappear beneath excess, Satriani and Vai kept the focus on connection — with each other, with the band, and with an audience eager to witness two longtime collaborators finally operating as a true unit.

Without a doubt, Ryman Auditorium added another memorable night to its historic legacy with the arrival of the SatchVai Band.
