It’s been a minute since we heard from the Dimmu Borgir camp, but it looks like that’s all about to change, as the band posted a teaser for something coming on March 26.
If you’ve been following along for a while now, then you know the Norwegian symphonic black metal band finished working on their follow up to 2018’s Eonian last September. It seems like we might finally be about to hear whatever they’ve been cooking for a while now.
According to the tease, we’ll know for sure at about 10 a.m. PST/1 p.m EST. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and see.

Perhaps the most famous Bronco in LA history was the white one driven by Al Cowling as he “evaded” (at 35 mph) the police on the I-405 freeway while hauling his pal (and accused murderer) Orenthal James Simpson who was hiding out in the back. Stoner rock quartet Bronco Forte are far less notorious (at least for now), but their new single, “Sixteen Lanes,” (coincidentally about driving on I-5 in LA), moves at a very laconic Cowling-esque pace. Imagine a Queens of the Stone Age 45 played at 33rpms or maybe a less baked Kyuss and you get a pretty good sense of what this bunch—Chris Klepac (guitar/vocals), Sako Injaian (guitar/vocals), Jen Glomboski (bass/vocals), Geoff Summers (drums)—are getting up to here. While this is a track premiere, we also have a video of the band performing (in suits) in front of a green screen highway backdrop. The new single was taken from Bronco Forte’s upcoming debut full-length, Lightning Scars.

Lightning Scars was tracked and mixed by Kevin McCombs at the Steakhouse, and mastered by Nick Townsend at Townsend Mastering. It’s set for release by Next Message Music on vinyl, CD and digitally on April 3. Place your preorder here.
Guitarist/vocalist Chris Klepac told us this about the origins of “Sixteen Lanes”:
“The idea for ‘Sixteen Lanes’ was born, appropriately enough, in a car. I was driving on I-5 somewhere near Anaheim, CA, reflecting on the human cost of the ‘return to office’ mandates that had affected so many people. It felt absurd to be surrounded by thousands of people all going places they didn’t want to be… the song just arrived naturally.”
